- In this episode of Study Hall College Journeys Hank Green interviews the incredible Sue Bird, the five-time Olympic gold medalist, WNBA and NCAA champion, All-Star record holder, media entrepreneur, activist, Barbie Hall of Famer, queer icon, communications major, and all-around multi-hyphenate!
Before her historic 20-year career with the Seattle Storm, Sue was another high school athlete navigating the challenges of choosing the right college and education to help her become an epic leader on and off the court. Join us as we dive into Sue's formative years at UConn and the pivotal moments that laid the foundation for Sue Bird to become one of the greatest athletes of all time.

$65k in 2002 currency is no where near $115k in 2024. The average cost of living for a single adult in 2002 in Seattle, where Sue spent her entire WNBA career, was $49k. A more accurate translation is $80k-$84k.
