🍽 Kitchen appliances in Arabic! (Palestinian/Jordanian Arabic) Read more info below!
The word for fridge is indeed “thallaajah” ثلاجة with a “th” ث but in dialect we tend to pronounce this as a ت in specific instances.
In other places such as Lebanon, the word for fridge is “barraad” برّاد.
The pronunciation we are using is Palestinian/Jordanian Arabic.
This type of Arabic falls under the Levantine dialect and would be understood by the majority of Arabic speakers in the Middle East. This is considered a conversational type of Arabic that is used in everyday scenarios.
Dialect, on the other hand (the one here is Palestinian/Jordanian Arabic) is a conversational type of Arabic that is used in everyday scenarios. This type of Arabic falls under the Levantine dialect and would be understood by the majority of Arabic speakers in the Middle East.
Formal/Standard Arabic or MSA (Modern Standard Arabic) is the formal Arabic taught in academic institutions and used in formal scenarios such as news broadcasts, official speeches, poetry and literature. However, it is not really used in day to day practical scenarios.
