I used nail polish most of my life, but I transitioned to dip a few years ago. I cannot go back to nail polish because of dry time and the fact that I had pillow markings on my nails all the time because I went to sleep and the nails weren't fully dry, even after I waited more than one hour. This happened to me with too many different brands. Plus I'm clumsy and I smudged them so often too. Plus I love the strength dip provides. ❤
I never stopped using nail polish. My favorite brands are mooncat, ilnp and holo taco. If you use a good base and top coat your manicure can last a week or more. I'm hard on my nails and have never had a problem with chipping until after a week. My favorite top coat is by holo taco. My nails are dry within a few minutes after using it.
I paint regular polish over clear gel overlay. Lasts as long as a color gel polish would. ❤ I always use a regular nail polish on my natural toes nails without overlay and it lasts for 3weeks for sure 🎉
Yeah, I stopped doing dip nails any type of gels because you can get allergic to them now I am an Indy lover for Indi nail polishes are gorgeous and they stay on my nails till I want to take it off. Thank you so much for sharing.
I was doing the gel extension on my nails then started watching UA-cam videos of people who swatch Indi Nail polish and I fell in LOVE with them. I have become a fan of the Polish Pick-Up and have placed an order every month except maybe 2 over the past year. It has become a thing my daughter and I do together now. She orders some and I order some (Ones we usually BOTH like) and we can use each others. We did have to stop ordering 6 to 8 bottles per month though. It was getting expensive and running out of room for the polish. Now when it comes to magnetic polish, gel is still the way to go, but the regular polish has been getting better with them over time. But they are still pretty. Just thought I would share that.
I never stopped using regular nail polish. I’m 56 and have been doing my own nails since Jr High. The key is good nail prep, base and top coat. I can go a week without chipping. I typically remove before then though simply because I want a polish change.
I love nail polish. However, after applying it, it will chip within 24 hours. That's the main reason I started dips and gels. My toes, on the other hand, lasts for weeks with nail polish. So technically, I use both. Azure products are really nice.
I’ve found that polish over clear dip or builder gel lasts so much longer than polish just on the natural nails! Aside from toes - they’d last through an apocalypse lol
I used to have a problem with nail polish chipping until I found a good base and top coat. Now I can get a week sometimes longer with no chips. Holo taco and ilnp make my favorite base and top coats.
I still use nail polish. I have strengtheners, ridge fillers, base coat, top coats and colors. Lipstick and nail polish are the biggest collections in my beauty stuff. It's quick on and quick off. I will also use it when I'm taking a dip powder break.
Haven't used it yet since I fractured my wrist, but I just received a new Orly Breatheable all in one base, color, and top coat polish that I saw on Kelli Marissa's channel. She does great swatch videos for regular polish.
Nail polish is always my #1. Check out the indie polishes - gorgeous. I do the rubber base and rubber top coat on my shorties then I polish. Also I will add gelx tips top coat them and use my nail polish.
Good morning Marla my favorite weirdo. Nail polish. I’m so impatient with my nails drying with nail polish. I’ve gotten spoiled by gel polish and dip powder 🥰
I'll totally admit that 'regular' nail polish is way quicker and easier than dip, but with natural nails that are weak and bendy, I had to touch it up and reapply every single day because they'd instantly start chipping (not to mention constant nail breakage). I'll stick with dip for this reason, even after contracting dip flu (but update: still loving Azure's odorless liquids--so shiny and fast drying compared to others!).
I love red nails in winter! Blood lust dip from sassy mouth is awesome too. Red is hard for me to do. Can you use Vaseline around the edges with polish?
I’m one of those ladies…. I just went back to regular polish because gels were giving me allergies. It started with Hema, then after a year and a half of doing Hema free it all caught up to me 😢 These Azure bottles are way bigger than the Modelones polish, so I’m gonna look for this set! Yes shimmers are more forgiving than creams, and I’ve noticed that with creams the application has to be faster or you get clumps🤨 Thanks for diving into regular polish Marla, I appreciate it so much ❤️💋
I started as a dip girlie, but needed some structure underneath to fortify my natural nails so I started using soft builder in a bottle gel. Then I learned how to sculpt extensions using nail sticker forms and hard builder gel. Lately I've been using gel polish exclusively over hard builder gel, but have been thinking of going back to dip instead of gel polish for funsies. Can't imagine going back to regular nail polish. I still have memories of waking up with wrinkled nail polish because they weren't completely dry before I went to bed (a me problem, I know). 😅
I still use a base coat with regular polish. If you don’t plan on wearing it for a week or more, use a peel off base coat, especially if you use polish with big glitters that are more difficult to remove.
Also, another tip. If you wear high pigmented polish that stains your skin when you remove it, try putting a coat of the latex polish used for nail stamping around your nail bed first.
I love the cranberry red! I use nail polish on my toes....I refuse to do gel because a: I'm not that flexible and b: I'm also not here for the removal LOL! I'm a gel girl on my press ons though...which I have pretty much only been doing press ons for a year. I have seen some of the tiktok videos before (not of the contact dermatitis) but the "hacks" they were doing with gel and press ons and I'm like please don't!!! The gel is not going to cure properly!!!
I'd use regular polish on my feet, but I'm a gel girl on my hands. If I loved a color of regular polish in my collection, I'd do it atop gel base, let it dry, and use gel top.
I have never gotten acrylics or gels or any hybrid. I prefer my natural nails and I love regular nail polish. I can change the color easily whenever I want and I have close to 200 bottles. Some of those are backups of colors I love. I have seen my friends nails once their artificial nails have been removed and the damage was horrible. There is no way I would chance that.
These are beautiful but I have no interest in nail polish. 😅 I still have some that I can use gel top coat over, but I seldom do. I got tired of my regular nail polish leaving color streaks on paper, and I just find it a pain in the butt in general. I was so happy when I found gel polish. ❤ I know that contact dermititis can be an issue but since I'm doing press-ons exclusively, I don't worry about it. I also tend to go overboard when I use an efile on my nails, so I stopped using it. Them, actually, I have several that I love. 😢 I only use them to clean the underside of my press-ons now.
I'd love to use nail polish more, but it just doesn't last on me! Within 2 or 3 days it's usually started chipping and my nails are much more likely to chip and break as well. That's why I started using dip power...😊
I hope regular nail polish is coming back! I’m 62 and to be honest I hate gel. I love the 3rd color you used. I never left polish but have tried the gels, dip’s etc & I have very long natural nails but the gel etc ruins my nails. If you top with Seche Vite (?? Spelling) you don’t have the long drying time
@ it’s a much thicker topcoat and it does shrink a little but it gives you a gel look shiny and very hard, smooth. You do have to put it on quicker than regular topcoat’s but it’s something you get used to quickly and it’s all I use for topcoat now
I don’t even use nail Polish much anymore more (toes only) but I had to click your link and buy this set. Am I your zombie Marla? What’s going on her?!?!? Hahahaha
it's a big NO for me😅. They will never come back in my life. I don't miss the uneven layers, the never-ending period of time for never really completed drying, the satisfying but unwanted complete peeling after only two days, the bedding prints the morning after and the incredible odor. A big thumb up for people who can manage it and have nice results afterwards but I am personally done with regular nail polish since I started to use dip powders and builder gel and UV polishes !!
I don’t think polish will come back it’s for lil girls and grannies cuz most of the rest of us have nails that are damaged from all other nail services that polish would chip. So u have to keep going bk to the service that damaged them in the first place. Damn 😂

Yes! This!
Yes the dry time of regular nail polish makes me frustrated every time, never fails 🤯😵💫

I love the ease of regular nail polish. I want to start going back to natural growth.
I’m so with you!!
Beautiful colors!! I hope nail polish makes a comeback. I love dip nails but I want to do more that doesn’t take half of my day.
SAMEEEE!

I use nail polish twice a week, just add drying drips and you are good to go! They are game changers!
I still use nail polish. I have strengtheners, ridge fillers, base coat, top coats and colors. Lipstick and nail polish are the biggest collections in my beauty stuff. It's quick on and quick off. I will also use it when I'm taking a dip powder break.

I only paint my toenails, only brand I use is Zoya. Doesn’t have all the harmful ingredients that some others have.
Good morning. I’ve been using regular nail polish over hard gel
Brilliant! And it lasts so much longer over gel!
Good morning Marla my favorite weirdo. Nail polish. I’m so impatient with my nails drying with nail polish. I’ve gotten spoiled by gel polish and dip powder 🥰
So much same!! Like, what do you mean I have to sit and not move for TEN WHOLE MINUTES?!
@ like that’s a long time sitting still 😂
I'll totally admit that 'regular' nail polish is way quicker and easier than dip, but with natural nails that are weak and bendy, I had to touch it up and reapply every single day because they'd instantly start chipping (not to mention constant nail breakage). I’m so glad you’re loving the azure liquids! And I totally hear you. The polish chip drives me crazy!
Beautiful colors! Love my gels, but I do have clients that like regular nail polish. TFS! 🤎💖💯
Beautiful colors and set❤
I love red nails in winter! Blood lust dip from sassy mouth is awesome too. Red is hard for me to do. Can you use Vaseline around the edges with polish?
You can use Vaseline or liquid latex!
I’m one of those ladies…. I just went back to regular polish because gels were giving me allergies. Omg I’ve so been there with the wrinkled polish!! Total morning ruiner

So what did your nails look like for your wedding? And congratulations!
She did not marry. Marla addressed it in last video.

Love the colors 😍

Love it!!😊
I use alot of it.
I’m leaning your way!!
@MarlaKris I've been seeing the videos your talking about and it takes me back. Better to be safe. ❤️
I'd use regular polish on my feet, but I'm a gel girl on my hands. If I loved a color of regular polish in my collection, I'd do it atop gel base, let it dry, and use gel top.
Oh boy sucker here! Just placed an order for 85.00 on the ILNP for good old fashion nail polish. Hope it lives up to its reputation!!!
I am trying to go back to natural growth. But the dry time drives me insane!! So I haven’t went with old fashioned nail polish YET!
I've had to go back to using nail polish due to allergies, I miss the staying power of gel and dip. 😢
I hear you - but better safe than allergic! ❤️❤️

WOW!❤
Right?! ❤️❤️
Regular polish just chips within 24 hrs that’s why I use dip. But regular polish on toes

Marla, I just posted & tagged you in a community post on my page so you can see I was being truthful 😉😉
