This was SUPER helpful. Long time DnD player here now venturing into the world of Marvel RPG. Would love to see a narrator focused video if you don't already have one.
Thanks so much! And welcome! I've got LOTS coming up for narrators. I've got one video out already which covers the narrator role as defined in chapter 10 of the CRB (ua-cam.com/video/rST7uxgkxf8/v-deo.html), but I've got even more narrator-focused videos in the works. Things like Running a Session Zero, Rewards, Running Combat, Balancing Encounters, etc. I'm going to do my best to ensure these videos are valuable for non-narrators as well. If there's anything in particular you'd like to see in these videos, now is the perfect time to let me know :-).
Excellent video, i have the physical book but i always look for videos like this one for games im running because idk for some reason i retain info for the first time while im learning better if i hear it explained than if I read it but i like to have the books cause im a collector but also to quickly reference on the fly mid game.
Thanks so much! I'm wired similarly - it is hard to just read a rulebook and remember all the details, but if I listen to something, it has a better chance of sinking in.
Awesome video! It is so nice to have things explained. When you used the 5E references that helped me so much. It went from Greek to geek in no time. Thanks!
The Glass Cannon vid I watched came across as the most awkwardly transparent shill-session I've ever seen. This vid, on the hand, seems genuinely enthusiastic.
Thanks man, I appreciate that. I'm one of those people that my friends love to play cards with, because I have no poker-face or ability to contain my reactions, either positive or negative :-).
Fantastic video my man! As a long time Merry Marvel Marching Society member, I’m looking forward to trying out this game. You’ve helped me understand what this game will be like, and I looking forward to learning more from you.
Thanks for this… been thinking about picking it up lately. I played the original Marvel RPG back in the 80’s (after Champions🤯), and am also looking for another use for my Marvel Zombicide minis. Really looking forward to trying this out.
My pleasure! The Zombicide minis are sweet. When CMON was announced as Marvel's exclusive accessory-maker, I hoped that meant we'd be getting more minis of Zombicide quality, but alas, they've gone the flat acrylic standup route. My wallet is grateful, though! :-)
"Melee" standing in for Strength is a weird choice. It seems that you'd choose that term to specifically create a distinct "Fighting" ability apart from raw Strength, much like in the TSR "FASERIP" version of the game.
For the first two rounds of the playtest it was called "Might". The stated reason for it changing to "Melee" was "The new name reflects the ability’s purpose better"... but I don't necessarily see that.
Thanks for the suggestion! I have the option set for UA-cam to automatically set timestamps, but it has been... inconsistent (I think it has only worked once). I'll begin doing it manually. I appreciate the feedback! Edit: Just added!
Here you go! discord.com/invite/hMTWS9epGt While not “official” in that it isn’t run by Marvel, it is easily the largest, oldest, and the one that’s frequented by the game’s creator (Matt Forbeck). It’s been around since before the actual playtest.
I have a question. This might sound dumb but i just want clarification. If i use a power and it costs 15 focus, does that mean my total focus score, let's say 90, goes down to 75? Follow up question, if yes, does that mean i could demoralize myself and reach 0 focus? I would love an answer from you, thank you.
Not dumb at all! Yes to your first question: using a power can reduce your Focus (but your maximum remains the same and you regain points up to that maximum by resting). But there's a rule that states: "a character cannot voluntarily spend so much Focus that doing so would reduce them to less than 1 Focus", so you wouldn't be able to demoralize yourself.
Not without making wholesale changes to the rest of the rules, I fear. The concepts of Edge and Trouble, fantastic successes (and failures) and all Target numbers rely on the 3D6. It’s pretty intrinsic to the rules…. I mean, it’s the only die roll in the game so everything is pretty balanced around it.

Thanks so much! And thanks for the feedback re: the 5E references, it's good to know they resonated.

Thanks for the Demiplane link. Your videos will help me be a superhero in no time.
You're most welcome!
Super helpful and amazingly well narrated. Can't wait for the next video ;)
Thanks Donna! :-)
I used to play marvel superhero roleplaying game by TSR back in the 80's fun memories.
Same! I’ve still got a bunch of sheets of loose leaf paper filled with characters I made up as a kid :-)
@@FuzzyOnTheDetails Me too! I spent hours on creating campaigns, I used to have the maps and cardboard figures too ha ha
Thanks! This is great
I appreciate you saying so! Glad you got something out of it.
Hell yeah new Fuzzy video

Great instructional video. Clear and concise.
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! :-)
You should include timestamps/chapters for your video.

Very Handy Videos for gamers old an new into this new system of marvel very much appreciated 🎩🫴💞
Video made it seem like there was an official discord server for this game yet I cannot find one

Can you do videos like this for Monster of the Week? I love your voice and I need to learn how to play it lol
Thanks, man - I appreciate that! I've never played Monster of the Week, but it looks like a cool game. Evil Hat does good work.
Thank you for the very helpful video! Can you share a link to the Marvel Multiverse Discord server? Thank you!
You’re welcome! Here you go: discord.gg/hMTWS9epGt

Is it possible to just use a normal D20 for the abilty check and then roll a d6 for the damage?

Fuzzy, are you also on the discord for this game?
I am indeed, but I only joined like 3 or 4 days ago.
I assume the Demiplane access has been spent?
Unfortunately that’s correct. But if you’d like to be on the waitlist, send me a note! (email in description)
