Hello Bashi, this is Cisco from Seattle Washington, I just wanted to thank you for the awesome video. It’s very helpful and thank you for sharing your set up, it was really helpful. I will try next winter to catch them. I usually go to Lake Washington Blvd during the summer to catch yellow perch. Same set up but with a 5-6 ft light rod with 10-12 lb line. Thanks again 😊
How do you like to eat these? I see what you meant when you mentioned in a previous video, that these are very bony fish! I liked how soft the flash was, it had the texture of mashed potato, haha! Looking forward to your next video!
may I ask what kind of hooks are you using? There are so many types of hooks and I get confused. Maybe if you can make a video on this topic in the future, thanks! Love all you videos
Same setup for les Davis ? I didn’t know you can get surf perch there. But then again I’ve never actually fished it lol just hear people talk about squid
Nice, thanks for the video and tips. Gonna have to head out there soon! What do you think about the downtown Seattle piers, any sea perch there right now?
At west coast, you can catch them in summer. But at Puget sound, I catch most of them in winter, you will see a lot of shiner perch at other time, which makes it impossible to catch striped perch
Are the stripped perch active during April? What months are the best for this fish? Thanks and i love your videos.
It's more like a winter thing
It's more like a winter thing over there
Do you only fish for these in the winter? Summer No good?
A lot of noise in the summer, I mean those small shinner perch

Thanks man! Pan fry, steam, soup, all good. It's quite bony, but the meat is sweet.
Do you have any advice for how to handle the bones? (such as removing the bones before cooking or filleting around the bones?)
thanks again!
If you are not good with debone, I suggest soup, I cooked it for 40 minutes and filtered all bones out
Filtered! Wow! Does all the meat dissolve? 🫨 It sounds delicious!
It will become fish smoothie :)

I was using the bait holder hooks, size 6. I will try to make one to explain all those different kind of hooks.
have you tried mussels as bait instead of shrimp for these?
I did not, but I tried the razor clam neck, not as good
Have you tried any piers on widbey island?
I bet Coupeville pier should be good
Same setup for les Davis ? I didn’t know you can get surf perch there. But then again I’ve never actually fished it lol just hear people talk about squid
Yes, same setup over there, you can get gulp greenling over there too.
Great video! Curious do you need any license to fish at Edmonds pier now?
Yes you do, salt water fishing license

Thanks. The pier at Eddie Vine Boat Ramp should be good for them.
Hello, does sea perch only catchable during winter? Do you know the rough time they catchable like dec-March?
At west coast, you can catch them in summer. But at Puget sound, I catch most of them in winter, you will see a lot of shiner perch at other time, which makes it impossible to catch striped perch
Great video! Do you cure your fresh shrimp with salt to toughen them up or just as is? Thx.
Thanks, I always use raw shrimp as it is, but I heard cured shrimp is better
