We are drowning, but we keep gasping for air ss the world teeters on the brink of an uncertain future, Citizend makes their debut on the music scene with their EP, "The Spiral." This conceptual journey spans a lifetime, unfolding just before the world meets its end. The narrative delves deep into an individual's thoughts and experiences about the impending apocalypse, from the beginning to the end. This conceptual journey through life's twists and turns now continues with the release of their second single, “Drowning.”
"Drowning" delves into the emotional landscape that precedes the end of all things, capturing the haunting feeling of knowing something catastrophic is imminent, yet striving to push forward. This song is a testament to the human spirit's resilience in inevitable doom.
The band's soundscape in "Drowning" is heavily influenced by the darker side of music, drawing inspiration from icons like Neurosis and Mark Lanegan. Drowning is a weave of post-metal, americana and noir, creating a pitch-black atmosphere suitable as a soundtrack to the moments before everything ends.
"The Spiral" EP unfolds as a multi-faceted exploration of life's journey, from inception to conclusion. Released under the banner of the masters of everything that is heavy and boutique (Majestic Mountain Records), this EP promises to be an immersive sonic voyage.
