hi. I have RICOH MP3054, I did the same setting to scan SMB folder on my MacBook, but scan doesn't go, I used computer name an IP address also, but still the same. any suggestions plz?
Could be a few things. Assume Mac version Big Sur or newer. Your copier is of an age to where firmware may be the issue. If your copier has a maintenance agreement with a local dealer, ask if your firmware is up-to-date. If you have done everything correct to share the folder, my guess is firmware.
Can you help me with the HP printer Hp PageWide Pro 477dw MFP for scan to network folder. I'm unable to setup in iMac. And how can I find a network path for the shared folder.
Sorry, I don't know anything about how HP does this. The sharing on the MAC side should be exactly the same. But I have never seen an HP PageWide before.
I tried these steps but still not able to get scans. I am able to see the shared folder on the mac from a windows PC and add new files to it from the windows PC, but scans still don't go through. There is no firewall on the mac either. Mac has Mojave on it. Trying to scan from Ricoh MP 6503 to macbook pro. Any suggestions?
Well, first I assume both the mac and the copier are on the same network, if so, @2:26 is where the problem most likely lies. Try using your Mac's ip address instead. You can find your Mac's ip from “System Preferences”, next click on the “Network” preference pane. Your IP address will be visible. If it works, then try again to use your actual computer name. We tend to not use IP addresses because generally they are "dynamic", meaning capable of changing. When your computer gets a new IP address, then your scan to folder will no longer work. A big reason a computer gets a new IP address is because it leaves a network, then comes back into at a later time. Setting up Scan to Folder can be tricky sometimes because everything has to match up (case sensitive) and if it doesn't, then your scans won't go through. There is an alternative to Scan to Folder which you might like called "Scan to Advanced Box". It is similar in setup, but gives you some cool features you don't have with regular scan to folder. Here's a vid better explaining the benefits. ua-cam.com/video/fh4dF1ilpgY/v-deo.html.
Super explained and illustrated TOP
Super helpful. Many thanks.
Works for me on a MF655 Cdw on Mac OS 14.5 but I needed to use IP address instead of network name.
Same here, any solution?
GREAT VIDEO !

Followed to a T, and still does not work. Adding a scan folder and address to a Mac.
