    Multiple Vassals + multiple throne rooms + no money cards in deck + an extra buy can be an awesome combo

    For a couple of those boards, Vassal seems like a good mid-game tool to immediately use the thing gotten off of Remodel. And then, when you're out of bad cards, your deck is mostly actions now, and might be worth the risk, or you can just Remodel away the Vassals - You could even remodel the Vassals into Dutchies to edge out your opponent in the Duchy dance, since you're not wasting a buy that could afford a Province just to avoid a non-winning point count.

      That definitely looks like something you can do on board 2, not quite so sure about the others due to problems with drawing your deck or lack of villages. Although on board two it's not all that different from Merchant, Village, Poacher or Market in that regard, all of which will help you draw then play the card you just gained from Remodel, and all of which are also on that board. Having said that, Vassal benefits moreso because it's a way to guarantee a successful card play once you've exhausted your Artisan guarantees from its topdecking, and you want to get in as many Vassal plays as possible because it generates more money than the other cantrips.

    Vasall one of those cards that can be great on some boards but suck on other boards.

    That first kingdom you were mentioning that there was no real way to get rid of Coppers while there was a Mine in that kingdom. It was probably still not a great option, given that there weren't a lot of +Actions in there and there were so many terminals in there already. It also wouldn't help with Vassal of course, since the Coppers just get swapped out by treasures, but I just wanted to mention that the card was there to potentially get rid of Coppers.

      Yeah sadly my brain makes these sorts of minor errors all the time, I'm glad you still got the gist of what I was meaning to say at least. I generally don't consider Mine a trasher as it doesn't reduce the number of cards in your deck.

    Vassal + Festival + Sentry is my favourite Base game combo. Doesn't hurt to have a Chapel as well.

      Why Festival? Just for the extra Payload? I get that it gives +2 Actions, but so does Village.

      @@jacobwansleeben3364 + Buy. Should be able to grab at least 2 Provinces per turn

      @@yippyyappyyahooey Couldn't Market fill the same role? If anything, it should be better since it draws a card if Vassal hits it?

    Not to be disrespectful or anything, but that Throne Room - Library - Vassal thing you concocted on the last board would not be very good. You'd need so many Throne Rooms for that after trashing down and the payoff are quite unreliable single Province turns (plus maybe some gardens which wouldn't be worth much), which then clog up both Vassal and Library BIG TIME. I'd bet on all the money options and on Workshop - Gardens to beat that handily.

      Don't worry, it's not disrepectful, I welcome and encourage improved strategies for the random kingdom anslydis segments. They are unplanned and fixated on one carc so it csn be easy to miss the bigger picture. I can see how Workshop Gardens looks good there, it even has Throne Room support, but I think with Sentry and Militia the awkward Vassal engine is still a good move. I'd probably have to try them out to say for sure.

    A quick question about Vassal:
    You always discard a card, it does not matter if you then play the card or not and then if you decide to play the card you put it into your play area and if not it stays in your discard.
    Is this right? Just want to be sure because until now every time I played Vassal I never put the card onto my discard when I did play the card

    • @DominionCards
      @DominionCards  3 роки тому

      Yes thats the strict following of the rules, it goes to your discard pile then you get the choice to play it, when you then move it to the play area. But for most cards, when playing the physical game, it doesn't really matter.

      @@DominionCards Yes doesn't really matter for physical just wanted to be sure cause of the interaction with village green and faithful hound.
      Thanks!
