i still remember reading ash by malinda lo for the first time, not knowing about the lesbian mc or romance at ALL and realizing that wait? this is okay? this is beautiful and possible? i was too young to really understand at the time, but being able to see myself in the books i read now is such an important thing.
it is!! it's such an amazing feeling, especially when you first start reading books that represent you!! it still makes me emotional now when a book has even a line that i can completely relate to after not having it for so long!!
me too!! i loved how it subtley included lots of other queer characters too and made it obvious that was normal in that world, like saying 'his husband' for example!!
i loved your little intro and i agree completely! i remember you talking about how you're working to feel better about the label lesbian lately and i just wanted to pop by and say i'm really proud of you for using it so openly and comfortably! super super inspiring, and i cannot wait to read literally every one of these sapphic books. your reading taste is impeccable so i have high hopes ;) love this video alreadyyyy
my best friend recommended me this series today and i'm really happy to have discovered it! i've read very few sapphic books and really want to get into reading more so this series is so needed. i will definitely be watching each video of this series! also it's really nice to find a lesbian booktuber as a lesbian booklover myself, you have earned a new subscriber! 💖
aww thank you!! this message is so sweet, it honestly made my day!! 💞 good luck with reading more!! (PS you're just in time because the fifth part of this series is going up today!)
I've had the devouring Gray on my shelf for a while! It seems really interesting and I should definitely get to it soon! Also I love this video and Can't wait to see more in the series!!!
I had a similar experience about having to play catch up, but mainly because I didn't read at all for years because of my ADHD. It's overwhelming but also pretty awesome to have so many excellent sapphic books to discover now that I'm reading regularly again!
'overwhelming but pretty awesome' is exactly how I'd describe it! i love having so many options but on the other hand there are SO MANY that idk where to start haha, but im glad you're able to read again!! 💞
I am so happy you filmed this!! I’ve been obsessing over sapphic books lately, but I have such a hard time finding fantasy sapphic reads, sooo this is perfect! I haven’t read any of your recs, so I’m excited to have so many more books to read. Not sure if you’ve already gotten this rec, but The Priory of the Orange Tree has f/f romance, and it is so well written! As a lesbian as well, it just means the world when authors write a f/f romance so truthfully ☺️🌈❤️
sapphic fantasy seems to be one of the hardest things to find for some reason! I'm so glad you've got some more recs!! yes i do know about priory!! I'm planning on reading it next month with my friend!! it's just so big and intimidating 😂 exactly!! I'm so glad there are more f/f books out there now!
areadingelf I was putting it off for the same reasons lol. But I hope you enjoy it! My jaw dropped so much because of her writing of the f/f scenes ugh 😍❤️ Just so genuine.
thank you SO MUCH for this video!!! i’ve only heard of maybe three sapphic books before this and only read one of them and i want so many more! thank you for the amazing reccomenations!! (ps i LOVE your shelves!)
I wish there were more mainstream sapphic books, for sure, but yeah, there's a lot that people haven't heard of! OMG I've never even heard of Crier's War before. That sounds so flipping good, especially with the casual representation you mentioned. Adding it to my TBR :D
Please read Cinderella is dead I loved it sm it’s my fav book it’s sapphic and feminist and has some of the cutest quotes ever “ she is all I want “ and “when I turn back she is smiling at me making my heart beat faster “ anddd “‘ my stomach fists into a knot, before u have the chance to overthink it I press my lips to hers “
i actually read it last year before it came out!! unfortunately it wasn't a favourite for me but I'm so glad you love it so much!! I'm actually hoping to reread it soon since i think reading a badly formatted advanced copy tainted my experience a bit :/ (there were literally no chapters?? just an endless stream of text??)
thank you for these recs! idk if i can recommend a book that i haven’t read yet (it’s at the top of my tbr) but The henna wars by Adiba Jaigirdar is sapphic and looks really cute!!
I recommend These Witches Don’t Burn. Honestly the plot is pretty shite, but the f/f relationship is everything. I could relate to it so much. So awkward and cute.
Sort of late, but I have a sapphic recommendation: 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝘣𝘺 𝘐𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 It’s about a teenage witch who lives in Salem and she’s a lesbian. The book has a lot to do with some new 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 in town who are a threat to the witches and can possibly expose them to humans. The love interest of the book is bi. There’s also a sequel, 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠.
thank you!! and it's never too late for a sapphic recommendation!! i have these witches don't burn and I'm hoping to read it soon for the spooky season!
Me a bisexual woman: *googles what does sapphic mean when I saw you talking about it on twitter* Thank you for giving me some WLW recommendations! The only one I had heard about was Criers War, I find these so hard to find!
i love that! don't worry i had to google it too, i wish it was used more widely since it's so inclusive. I'm so glad you've found some recs, it makes me so happy to know that people are finding sapphic books!!
Cool video, you are putting so much efforts in what you are doing, we have checked out your channel and we can really see that you love so much what you are doing 🙂we also create videos and i would love if you could check them out ❤️

areadingelf for sure! even seeing the words her wife or his husband would fill me with SO much freaking joy
it's one of my favourite things!!
@James Abdullah you’re right! no one cares :)
Queen of Coin and Whispers is amazing!! I love that it’s a historical romance without homophobia or colourism😊
me too!! i loved how it subtley included lots of other queer characters too and made it obvious that was normal in that world, like saying 'his husband' for example!!
I adore Crier's War! That book was fantastic 😍. I can't wait for the sequel!
i can't either!! I'm so excited!!!
you have such a peaceful aura🥺 and these all sound so amazing!
thank you!! 🥺🥺
I love how soft spoken you are. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe has sapphic undertone and the whole book brought me to tears.
thank you!! I'll need to check that one out!!
YOU GUYS SHOULD LITERALLY READ WRITTEN IN THE STARS. IM CRRYIIING. IT'S A FAKE DATING TROPE AND IT'S GOT LIGHT ANGSSTTT AND IT'S SOOO GOOOODD AAAHHH
I WANT TO READ IT SO BAD!!!!
tysm for bringing more of these books into the spotlight!!
I'm happy to!

omg thank you so so much this is so sweet!!
Sapphic characters and dragons?? I'm sold.
what more could anyone want?
I haven't read too many sapphic books and I'm always looking for more. All of these just got added to my ever growing TBR!
yay! so glad you found some books!!
I can't believe people are out there saying there are no f/f books! That's so silly. I'm excited for this series.
thank you!! it's so ridiculous i feel like it has to be deliberate at this point, at least for some people
