@@robbiecalvoguitar Was more interested in Pac 611 actually , but manage to get a revstar rss20 in the end for plenty of reasons , since pacifica 611 and 612 are both out of stock like crazy , have to wait around 6 month to get one. revstar sounds kinda closer to 611 , also got advantages like stainless steel fret and such. Just started practice two days ago , still trying to figure out how chords work , plenty of fun tho.
Love the tone you're pulling out of these guitars...I'm planning to take a closer look at them in the coming year.Speaking of....wishing you a Happy New Year Robbie!
And this is how you do compare guitars. Thank you for not adding tons of distortion! I'm buying a SA2200 myself... only because I already have a Pacifica and a Revstar. :D
Amazing tone Robbie!!! Simply beautiful. Regarding the guitars love the SA 2200 and Revstar these two are outstanding. The Pacifica sounds good. Just good 😅
As ever Robbie, wonderful to listen to. Sadly the new iterations of the Revstar didn't produce a figured top like your blue P90. I absolutely love that guitar but impossible to find now. 😔
Thank you Chip. I agree with you wholeheartedly. The hand-rubbed figured tops were the best for stage and camera work...that's one of my favorite guitars. Maybe Yamaha will issue some in the next iteration of Revstar?
The Revstar is very intriguing- there is amazing versatility there and it still gets fat fusion tones. It would be helpful to know what amplification/processing was used.
Hi Mat, I love the RSE20. It really does sound fat and full across the tonal spectrum. I was using Line 6 Helix for the demo. Compression, dual delay, and a hint of hall reverb.
I agree, it's an amazing guitar. They are handmade in Japan, so that adds to the cost. I've been wanting to promote the SA2200 for ages...maybe the extra marketing will generate a refresh and look at how it can reach more players in the lower price point?
Reminded me a little bit of Larry Carlton. Endless, wonderful, fusiony, bluesy melody. Probably a bit more melodic than Larry! SA-2200 looks the business!
Thank you Don, The SA2200 looks, plays and sounds the business ... well put. To be compared to Larry Carlton is beyond kind...I'll gladly accept that...
Anyone else find themselves hitting the like button at the beginning of the video? Robbie always delivers an enjoyable & entertaining video!
THE YAMAHA S A 2200 IS ON FIRE FIRE FIRE 😎 COOL RED HOT FIRE

Excellent demo Robbie! I also bought your TrueFire courses which are very informative.

I really appreciate that kind comment Ricardo. I liked the SA2200 so much, I'm going to order one as well.

nice to have the different types compared. Wish to see this in the upper price level too for all of them

Thank you Ron, that's very kind of you. Happy New Year...I hope your hand is healing well and you'll be back to normal soon.
Nice! What gear are you using to make that sound?

SA2200=Beauty!
It's a shame Yamaha don't do a more affordable version of the 335 Style. The Pacifica and Revstar range are really good value for money

Its hard to get more melodic than Carlton!Paul Desmond?Stan Getz?Ella Fitzgerald scatting?maybe!
Nothing beats a good 335 imo
So True...and the SA220 is about as good as it gets.
