Just Steering Column Things

I didn't get a chance to film the removal and install of the column itself. Apologies about that, but the BA falcon is fairly simple so I'll explain that here...
Disconnect your battery. Remove the horn pad, unplug the air bag and steering wheel cables, remove steering wheel. At this point, you will need to remove your indicator and windscreen wiper stalks along with the clock spring. DO NOT TURN THE CLOCK SPRING. Remove it and leave it alone. Remove plastics around the steering column, and there are 4 gold coloured bolts to remove holding the column to the dash board. Finally, at the firewall side there's the nut and bolt holding the shaft to the steering rack uni-joint. undo the nut and bolt, pull the black tab at the bottom back, and slide the aluminium shaft towards the drivers seat.
That's all there is to it. If you need to change the column then make sure you change the key transponder and key barrel to the new (or second hand) column.

Thanks for the very clear explanation and clear footage I am replacing my steering column and I'm getting a new key and key barrel but I'm going to change the key fob over to the old one

I replace my steering column but now I am getting a airbag light, why is this?
