We surly love to hear you John, not many put nearly as much heart and passion into the songs as you do. I hope you keep on playing as long as you like doing it. Your picture is going to be right up there with Ol' Emmet Lundy and the rest someday. God bless you and your family.

This is a powerful and inspirational performance! It reminds me just what can be done with a couple fiddles and a truck-load of passion.

She’s the reason why in New York City I’m a rosarian. I remember her gargling. I remember it well, I remember how roses and how they smell. John put that together for your mom make it a song.🎼🎵

I am British and support Gen. Pakenham and his valiant British troops!!!!! Nevertheless, sir, I think your and your daughter's performance of this song is quite stirring, and I like it.

I guess a light hearted celebration of the Yankees defeat of the British in the war of independence. I'm Canadian.

@@ThePrairieFiddler the lyrics were composed by musician, storyteller, folklorest and high school teacher Jimmie Driftwood, who put the lyrics to 8th of January in an effort to inspire his students. Johnny Horton had a hit with it in the late 50s. I'm Canadian too btw

Actually, it celebrates the victory of Andrew Jackson and his troops over the Brits in the war of 1812. It's why Jackson's name is all over New Orleans and Louisiana more broadly.
