I wholeheartedly agree with Brett on this issue, as a younger millennial woman. I was bombarded with porn and sex at way too young an age. I feel like it really fucked me up and ruined my childhood and young adult years. Porn and sex addiction ruined my parents marriage and therefore my family. I’ve also had enough with the normalization of soft porn and nudity in our society it is disgusting how this stuff is pushed on kids.

Twitch has just created a new section called "Artistic Nudity". Which considering Twitch is a 13+ platform, FCC should sue Twitch.
The internet allows for all ages to access it, it has porn on it, lets get the government involved because some people don't care enough to raise their children at all and would rather have the government do it for them.
The section was 'age restricted,' meaning you had to check a box saying you were 18+, which is about all the protection of other porn sites. Twitch has constantly failed to keep suggestive content off their site so this was an attempt to push it all into a corner that wasn't on the front page, although they definitely did a pretty terrible job at doing that.
And guess what happened immediately? People started drawing hentai in the art category. Literal hentai with nude underaged looking girls.

Believe it or not, UA-cam had a similar problem less than a year ago in Gaming>Minecraft>live. Me and others threw our picks trying to point it out, but our attempts were merely a shadow war. Luckily at some point later on it got resolved majorly, just looked and only saw one rather than a majority of the page being softcore

As a millennial myself, I will say we were overly exposed to sexual content way too much. I was the only one in my group of friends who felt that way growing up. I’m so glad gen z is maybe getting away from wanting to be exposed to sexual content.
The more something is forbidden, the more attractive it becomes.
Sometimes less is more.
Theyre not getting away from wanting to be a part of sexual content. Largely from what I see its the opposite unfortunately. Gen A is even worse and theyre younger than us. Its not getting better yet, its still getting worse. Maybe gen Z will swing the pendulum and fix this shit.
The normalization of porn in our society is beyond insane. Not to mention this type of content is targeting minors.
It's really disheartening to see how Twitch allowed sexualized content on its platform, considering its audience largely comprises younger viewers.
Just an FYI, in the USA it is a violation of no less than THREE different Federal laws to distribute explicit material to minors. Under those laws the FBI can remotely confiscate ALL of Twitch's domain URL's.

Exactly. I'm beyond confused why everyone is crucifying Twitch when pornhub literally exists. The worst that could happen on Twitch is a minor sees a pair of tits. Big deal. There are hundreds of websites out there that require little to no age verification and show a whole lot more than that. Twitch isn't anywhere near a priority if people actually want to start cracking down on the availability of porn to minors.
It seems like Twitch allowed it for a time in order to roll it back and catch all the ones blatantly breaking the ToS in this way. If you can't get em all because they are too blended in with the crowd, set up a scenario to let them tell on themselves and work from there. Well, that's how I hoped they went about it. It does seem like a tactic a company would do to protect itself. Highly doubt it, but that's how it seems at least.

To be clear, when the guidelines say "allowed with label" the label they're talking about removes the stream from appearing on the front page and requires checking a box saying that you're 18, which is about all the protection you'll get on actual porn sites like pornhub. So the point of the policy was to abandon moderation and instead provide a slight amount of protection against anybody unwantingly seeing this stuff. Still a pretty bad way of going about it, but I see far too many people misunderstanding the intended function of the policy.
