    I think the two early signs of Alura's magic are her amazing cooking and they way Erik felt when he kissed her.

      Yeah, I thought when Airyk (sp?) said that there was something about her that made him tremble, I thought he was just using a line (mainly 'cause I didn't know she was going to be an important character), but now I'm thinking that maybe that's part of her subconscious magic that he was feeling.

    I am really enjoying this series so far. In the flashbacks though I do wonder why Willow didn't at least attempt to say, "Elora herself chose me as her protector. That means I have a say." I don't think it would have worked, but just to try it and also remind the audience that even as a baby, there was a connection between them. Also how is there no joke from Willow of "you were a lot easier as a baby' in his frustrated speech to Elora. But overall I'm really enjoy the show thus far and can't wait for the next episode.

      It's nice to hear good things about the show considering the huge negative reception it's getting. I have nothing against people who dislike the show that's fine but I'd like to have a balance of positive and negative reception

    I been really liking it. My biggest complaint about this series is the end credit music it should be the Willow theme music or instrumental.

    Glad they referenced how Elora's hair color changed because it was bugging me after the reveal. Definitely enjoying the series and hoping it only gets better from here.

    I think I'm liking it better on second-hand viewings through reactions than I did watching it alone. That's not to say I *didn't* like it from the start, just that things I didn't initially recognize filled in some gaps for me upon rewatching. Like, now the wild pendulum swings of Willow's attitude toward Elora (shifting radically from protectiveness to hope to frustration seemingly very quickly) make more sense when you put them in context of the nature of his visions of the future, the stresses of being the leader of his community and the apparent regret of not continuing to try to train Elora rather than letting himself be run off/charge off in a huff when rebuffed.
    And while I don't disagree that Elora maybe deserved a life of more normalcy than being the Chosen One would have afforded, I think there was probably a better compromise that Sorcha could have made with Willow to still get her trained (though I suspect it's Sorcha's experience with her mother's magic that drove her to basically try to stamp out as much magic as she could throughout her kingdom, which is understandable if misguided).
    I'm really intrigued about some of the unanswered questions that really have little to do with the main plot...like, was Boorman *really* the squire that Madmartigan took with him? And if so, why did the Bone Reavers know him by name as though he was a former compatriot? What is the betrothed princeling really up to? (I can never remember his name and I refuse to call him Flash) It seems painfully clear that he and Kit will likely *not* actually end up marrying, but I do wonder if his interest in Elora is purely scholarly in nature - that little speech he gave her sounded uncomfortably like a declaration of romantic interest, if you ask me.
    Anyway, really looking forward to the next episode and what you folks make of it.

    It lacks the truth and magic of what Lucas had designed. Alas, our official Epistle (on our channel) concerning "Willow (the series) 2022 by the "Mousey" Corporation explains quite clearly how it became "Anti Femina Heroina." It deprived all audiences (and Princess Elora Danan) of what could have been a tremendous and pristine ironclad journey for a female hero "with a thousand faces," inspiring generations to come. Peace be to you and come an join us anytime.

    All about Mims and Elora being paired up a lot more in the future series. I would love it if they become besties, they were great together. Grayson is definitely going to become a future sorcerer. I smell a Grayson, Elora, Airk love triangle kindling. Hope not. I hope Gray and Elora empower each other but platonically. All in all, I’m digging the show. They are definitely setting up some amazing world building and Willow character lore that us nerds will really get into and fan over as we see more. Let the merch begin!! Move over Lord of the Rings, the greatest adventure BEING told is now Willow!!! Give it time to bloom. I need more James Horner though!!! Come on! Hot take: The tattoo on her arm is a willow tree, and Cherlindrea’s wand is a branch from that willow tree. I said it first!! 🎉😅

    Sorry, but this show lost me for good the second Sorsha told Willow he was not and never would be a great sorcerer. Disney’s (*cough* Kathleen Kennedy *cough*) habit of taking my childhood heroes and turning them in a-holes has grown weary.

    • @KevinDPomeroy
      @KevinDPomeroy Рік тому +20

      That took me back for a moment too. It was harsh but I do think that Sorsha is accurately portraying the scenario. No matter how well Willow trained, he was never going to become a great sorcerer. That's the point, It isn't Willow's mastery of magic that allowed him to succeed in the original story it was that he was clever and caring. In this episode both Sorsha and Willow are both right and wrong. Both figures made valid points, and no one knew how things were going to play out. Willow acknowledges that he had a part in the way things played out, and knows that his ego get the better of him. There is a big difference between what Sorsha and the Nelwyns in the original movie said. Both state that Willow will never be a great sorcerer, but the Nelwyns did it to undermine Willow and cut him down, Sorsha was saying it as part of the analysis of how serious the situation was, that Willow was not as powerful as other legendary sorcerers like her mother or Raziel, and so other precautions should be taken.

      Sorsha was an asshole for most of the original movie. Also fans blaming Kennedy instead of the writers and directors and only when it's something they don't like is tiresome.

      @@KevinDPomeroy Yeah Sorsha is harsh but blunt, she isn't gonna talk around an issue. Without Raziel, his magic isn't enough. But both said things that were wrong there with Willow trying to steal the girl and saying he would never return. I bet he regretted that since those were still his friends. Plus I bet Wllow hopes beyond all hope that Sorsha was right, that his vision can be changed somehow.
