Watch the series Ash vs Evil Dead. Sam Raimi also made a movie called Darkman starring Liam Neeson. I would also like to see your reaction to the Scream movies.
Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi and Ted Raimi are all brothers. Rob Tapert is best friends with Sam. Renaissance Pictures is their production company. Rob Tapert is married to Lucy Lawless. (Xena: Warrior Princess). Raimi and Tapert teamed up to do Hercules the Legendary Journeys (With Kevin Sorbo as Hercules) and Xena: Warrior Princess (Lucy Lawless as Xena and Renee O'Connor as Gabrielle). You will also notice that the music usually in San Raimi and Rob Tapert projects are done again by a mutual friend. Joseph LoDuca, who does some wonderful music for movies and TV shows. Ted Raimi is more known for his acting. He was Joxer the mighty in Xena, was on SeaQuest DSV and had small parts in the Raimi Spiderman movies as well. I am Facebook friends with several of the cast members and writers of the Hercules and Xena shows and they are wonderful people. Except for Kevin Sorbo, he was always an asshole. People just didn't know he was like that until later on.
And this is where Ash Williams went from a great protagonist, to an amazing one. Bruce Campbell nails the performance. I love how insane this movie gets.
The appeal of Ash Williams is that he's not a selfless hero, he's an incompetent macho lunk head. That's what makes him and Bruce Campbell so entertaining in this.
I like the first 2 but Army Of Darkness is what truly made me a fan of this franchise, and solidified Bruce Campbell’s legend as the king of horror comedies. I still shout THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK whenever I use a massive shotgun in online video games.
Bruce is my favorite actor. Met him 18 years ago on the day I was released from the hospital after a week. He was super awesome to my daughter, held up the line to talk to her. He’s a great person IRL.
"Well, Hello mister Fancypants! I've got news for you pal, You ain't leading nothing but two things right now. Jack and Shit. And Jack left town." - One of the best movie quotes of all time
I know Roxy and Tara made a joke about it when they watched the first movie, but I would genuinely love for them to watch Ash vs Evil Dead. Even if it’s just the first episode of the show, just so they get a feel for what it’s like, and to know where Ash ends up.
The other Raimi brother -- Ted -- is at the end, asking Ash if he said the words right. Sam frequently has a role for both Bruce and Ted. Bruce, Ted Raimi, and Robert Tappert are all in "Xena: Warrior Princess " as recurring characters.
OK, inside joke. The "words" originally came from the classic Sci Fi movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still". They were words given to a character that were supposed to be a message to an alien robot "gort". And of course, in this movie, Bruce Campbell forgets one of them.
Bruce Campbell stars in Ash Vs The Evil Dead TV series (Which is good and in the style of the third film but with better camera work). He is also stars in the film "Bubba Ho-Tep"... which is a MUST watch. A cult horror film that won the Bram Stoker award for screenplay.
I think it was actually a reference to a thing Bruce Lee and I think other kungfu movie stars would do after a finishing move they’d do like a slow shakey breath to like steady themselves. Yes probably cause adrenaline in a fight but in this context I think it’s more Bruce Campbell embracing being a badass by acting like other badasses he’s seen but all the people in the past haven’t.
It's actually copying that thing Bruce Lee used to do when he finished off an opponent without looking at them. Basically to portray how he's coming down from the high of an intense battle.
This single movie started something that changed not only the film industry but the video game industry carrying on to pop culture and meme culture in general. Especially that damn poster for this movie...when you see it you know just how iconic it is.
Bruce Campbell and director Sam Raimi came up with the name that perfectly describes this genre of films, "Splatstick," which combines slapstick comedy with blood-splattering horror. Also, due to copyright issues, they couldn't use any footage from ED 1 & 2, so they had to revise the backstory (again) and recast.
The younger generation really seem to have trouble getting on the wavelength of some of these classics I have found. They have been taught everything has to be serious or something, but I notice it with a number of react channels
Still another Raimi brother, Ted, is often acting in these collaborations. He was the guy at S-Mart at the end asking Ash if he spoke the words correctly. They're also both in Xena - Bruce Campbell as Autolycus and Ted Raimi as Joxer (the Mighty).
My buddy is directing Evil Dead the musical and I got to paint some backdrops for it. Was thinking about y'all! Thank you for traumatizing yourselves for our entertainment, ladies!
The name Sheila comes from the Irish name Síle, which is a Gaelic variation of the Latin name Caelia. Caelia is the feminine form of the Roman clan name Caelius, which means "heavenly". It’s a very old name that makes sense for medieval UK region
The behind the back shot followed by the shivers was probably an homage to Bruce Lee? Not super often, but he would have scenes where he'd finish off a guy and the downed fighter would be off camera and he'd get a close up and he'd do that shiver.
They're going to be in for a surprise when they watch the reboot (the cabin, not apartment one). It goes straight horror when you're expecting a more comedic romp.
Bruce Campbell is the most down-to-earth, chillest dude ever. I've had the privilege of meeting him three times in the last couple of years, and each time he was the absolute sweetest. As much as he likes to joke around with his fans and roast them, he genuinely loves them too and is extremely passionate about his work. He sees Hollywood for what it is, and he has the realest perspectives on what it's like to be a b-movie actor.
This is my favorite of the Evil Dead Trilogy 😂 Really fed into my love of Skeletons as a kid, and still as adult. 44:36 - The guy with glasses who asked him " _Did you say the words this time?_ " is Ted Raimi, also his brother :D Ted Raimi has been in soo much stuff and he's great! This movie also has an alternate ending.
You guys have finally reached my fav film in the franchise and one of my all time favorites. This movie will never not be quotable to me! Even thought it’s more on the comedy side with a mix of action and fantasy, I still consider it horror as well. I did dress up as ash for Halloween a few years ago in his medieval outfit which is not common but I loved it! Ash will always one of my fav characters in all of fictional media!!! Bruce Campbell is the GOAT!!!

The humanoid alien protagonist of the film, Klaatu (Michael Rennie), instructs Helen Benson (Patricia Neal) that if any harm befalls him, she must say the phrase to the robot Gort (Lockard Martin).
I remember watching this as a teenager when it was released and never once having any of these bizarre theories and questions.. We just had fun with no issues following what was happening as it seemed obvious...
Yeah, that is a common way that people ruin the movie watching experience. It's best to avoid watching anything with those people. Now having said that, these 2 weren't bad. I have seen reactors that were far, far, far worse than this.
I feel the reason why Army of Darkness didn’t do well was because the studio never marketed the movie as “Evil Dead III” or even its original title “The Medieval Dead.” Even the trailers and posters only credited Sam Raimi’s then hit, Darkman, and not Evil Dead. Fun Fact: The Necronomicon makes an appearance in Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) and the director Adam Markus has confirmed that Jason is a Deadite in that movie.
I wish I knew what it was like to get nauseous so easily. I've been on a boat in a storm and didn't even get sick then. 🤣 This movie ain't shit for me, although I played a bunch of hectic games growing up when I wasn't doing crazy stuff outside so maybe that helped
Same. I read books laying down in the backseat for cross-country trips as a kid. I've never had an issue. As an adult, I can play VR games for hours with no issues. My wife can only play for a few minutes, and my friends not much longer than that. I'm really glad I don't get motion sickness, though 😂
Fortunately I don’t get motion sickness either, not on boats or rollercoasters or anything else, so it never occurred to me that this movie in particular would make some people motion sick.
The thing you have to remember about the Bad Ash character, (and all the mini-Ash characters,) all originate from the second movie, where he gets 'possessed'. It makes perfect sense because he was already possessed, (just like when Ash grabs himself through the mirror in the second movie,) so it was already established that the deadites can use mirrors to make replications of people. Every film has a different person playing Linda, which is an inside joke. And you two HAVE to watch 'Session 9'. It is one of those movies that will truly judge how much of a horror/thriller fan you really are. One of the best elevated horror movies to come out since maybe The Shining...
Army of Darkness or "The Mid-Evil Dead" from the original working title is a 1992 American dark fantasy horror comedy film directed, co-written, and co-edited by Sam Raimi. The film is the third installment in the Evil Dead film series and the sequel to Evil Dead II (1987). Starring Bruce Campbell and Embeth Davidtz, it follows Ash Williams (Campbell) as he is trapped in the Middle Ages and battles the undead in his quest to return to the present.
You two should watch “DarkMan” as a one-off after you finish with the EvilDead franchise, but before your next franchise.. You should fully do Halloween, I’m sure there’s a few you haven’t seen out of 13 movies..
I think Tara hasn’t seen them. But it’s crazy they did Chucky, Jason, and Freddy and moved on like Michael don’t exist. The disrespect to the king is real.🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Now to watch the Ash vs. Evil Dead tv show!!! The best of Evil Dead 2 with Army of Darkness all in one. It's the best horror comedy tv show of all time! 😉
It always makes me giggle that he teaches men at arms how to fight like they haven't been doing that their whole life. Legit, they would know how to fight better than him.
The fact the film that probably should have been the darkest was actually more an action/comedy makes it really stand on its own. I'd wager if it wasn't for this film, the Evil Dead franchise would not be what it is today. In all honesty though, you guys should 100% check out Ash vs Evil Dead series next. It's so good.
This film has had such an impact on pop culture; there are countless video games, board and card games wherein you can acquire a shotgun called the Boomstick. In Deep Rock Galactic (DRG) and DRG: Survivor, there is a Jury-Rigged Boomstick, and in Survivor, the Dwarf can say "Swallow this!"
Cool reaction, this movie has many clear homages to movies and literature that make it make more sense, like Fantasia, Jason and the Argonauts, Gulliver's Travels, The Three Stooges, Lovecraft, Mad Max, Planet of the Apes, Highlander, Conan The Barbarian, The Day the Earth Stood Still. The direct continuation of this is the show Ash vs. Evil Dead.
17:23 No man has ever asked this question, the answer was already written into our DNA before the movie came out and was part of the movie because the writer knew he had the opportunity to write an Epic "Go Boom with style" Scene.

"I wish I knew what it was like to get nauseous so easily."
No, you don't. It's miserable. You feel so sick all you want to do is sleep it off.
Fortunately I don’t get motion sickness either, not on boats or rollercoasters or anything else, so it never occurred to me that this movie in particular would make some people motion sick.
I think these two are the only people on the planet who get sick through cinematography
The actress in this film was in one of the greatest films ever made in Hollywood and her name is Embeth Davidtz, and she was in Schindler's list.
Hail to the King Baby
I love Bruce Campbell, such a funny and great actor. Him as Ash is one of my all time favorite characters, Hail to the King Baby.
I showed this to my kids last night, still as funny as when I saw it in theatres.
The fact they weren't splitting their sides laughing at the whole "Graveyard Skeleton Beatdown" part has me concerned for any other reactions.
Now to watch the Ash vs. Evil Dead tv show!!! The best of Evil Dead 2 with Army of Darkness all in one. It's the best horror comedy tv show of all time! 😉
Can't wait for Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Director's Cut and International Cut have more scenes that explain the inconsistencies you see in the Ash vs tiny Ashes scene.
As a kid i knew Bruce Campbell from Spiderman Cameos and Sky High
It always makes me giggle that he teaches men at arms how to fight like they haven't been doing that their whole life. Legit, they would know how to fight better than him.
The Anime "Berserk" was influenced by The Evil Dead franchise.
Now Ash Vs. Evil Dead. So awesome! Lol😂
An adjacent film with Bruce Campbell as lead is “Bubba Hotep”. It’s a wild ride.
It's fantastic. Very underrated.
There was an extended scene of the Mini Ashs scene in case you wonder how his face’s covered in soot.
Booms stick ❤groovy...love from 🇳🇵
I'd love to believe that there's a world where we have shared universe movie...Ash, Tucker&Dale Vs The Evil Army Of Darkness.
I watch this movie so many times as a kid and never saw the first 2l😂😂 till 10 years ago
Ash vs P Diddy
Seeing Roxy reaction to all the quotable lines, I loved in this movie is great!
This is my... BOOMSTICK!😂
I love this movie and the TV series, Ash Vs Evil Dead from 2015-2018.
One of Bruce Campbell's autobiographies is titled "Hail to the Chin".
Confessions of a B movie actor, if I recall correctly. My sister met him and got it signed. I sadly didn't, but did read the book lol.
Isnt there another one "If Chins Could Kill?" Lol
@@AlexDelarge1990 Yes there is.
Evil Dead.
Sheila is Miss Honey in Matilda
17:23 No man has ever asked this question, the answer was already written into our DNA before the movie came out and was part of the movie because the writer knew he had the opportunity to write an Epic "Go Boom with style" Scene.
Roxy's pure joy and delight at hearing the jack and sh!t quote was amazing 😄❤
I wait all week for u 2 Much Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Calling them Zombies always triggers me there not Zombies uhhh
Yeah, not one single thing in any of the movies suggests they're zombies
Congrats on the GEMA Award Roxy!
Not just my favourite Duo on this channel but Fav on UA-cam now🐐🐐🍿SHEJECTS
Ash vs Evil Dead is next in Ash's story, and absolutely worth watching.
Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise are good too, but they don't follow Ash.
I’ve never understood the whole “get dizzy while watching a movie sitting down” thing. 🤷🏻♂️
Chicks. They complain about everything.
@@adriantrusca1245even Greg gets dizzy
@@ninipookie aww its mister wokeyboy ofcourse
its motion sickness, for some people it gets f**ky when they watch something with motion while their body stays in place same goes for VR
@@ninipookie that’s not saying much man lmao
18:56 Roxy acts like she didn't like that. But secretly she LOVED it.
Ash vs John Constantine
