Young Patty Duke Introduces Helen Keller Documentary Film

- Circa -1970's. Young Patty Duke Astin introduces the 1955 documentary film - "Helen Keller in Her Story" - Enjoy! ( I'll upload a captioned version of this video, in the future.)
Wow! Patty Duke is so young; and so charming! I was captivated by her; and deeply enthralled in this wonderfully written introduction to a documentary that sounds astounding! Seeing her desk and looking at the those still pictures with a very young Patty Duke, evoked a deep and profound emotional response! She described Helen Keller so eloquently. I think what moved me the most was when she said that her life and spirit is a reminder that any disability need not be a deterrent for a productive, worthwhile, and happy life! WOW. She was a remarkable blessing to our lives - whether acknowledged or not!
Always loved Patty Duke. She passed away too young

So sorry I didn't respond earlier....but I just noticed this comment. I've been a bit negligent of my youtube channel for the past 2 or 3 weeks, and Y.T. doesn't always notify me of new comments. Yes, I think it's interesting that Patty and Helen met. It must have been Before Helen had her stroke in the mid 60's. It's funny but I was wondering how things were going with you a week or 2 ago.

That's fine Helen. I know you take YT breaks!lol It makes sense they met in the early 60's as that was when the play was done. I'm good! Still working on my novel...which is finally coming together ; the scenes are being woven together :) How's by you?
Oh...not much is going on here. I just happened to notice your reply as I was skimming over my comments. Y.T. Is getting really bad about not notifying me about comments and replies. I usually end up physically going to the video page and looking for new comments. I've been on youtube for the past few hours. I'm getting a bit sleepy. You're probably just getting up... but I'm just now getting ready for bed. I've been falling into a "reversed sleeping schedule". It's a hard schedule to break...once you fall into it. But there's always a lot of night owls on youtube, so I guess I'm not alone. Good morning or good evening! ;c))
Oh Helen I've been an all night person for years lol. I'm on my way to bed now too! I like the quite one finds in the wee hours. My cat, Henry use to tell me it's time for bed every night at 4:00 am on the dot! lol Sweet dreams!
My brother was deaf,blind & near his end he could not walk! I love my brother & you played Helen perfect!

I used to watch the Patty Duke show ...... I also remember here playing Helen Keller ...... Particularly where her teacher make's her first breakthrough with the water faucet.

Hi Dyanthis. Sorry for my late reply. Several years ago, I think I uploaded the parts of the film that actually showed Helen K. In 3 parts. It is titled "Helen Keller 1950's documentary Part 1 (clip)" ...part 2 etc... You may have to go back a few years in my video uploads section to find it. The film quality isn't really that clear....but actually a lot of clips I've posted more recently in better video quality come from that particular documentary as well. Anyway, thanks for your interest. Hope things are going well for you. Please accept my best wishes! :)

Helen Keller You are so welcome. As a young child I was good friends with 2 neighbor children who’s parents couldn’t speak or hear, so I learned to sign. I always kept her story close to my heart.
