Marc Martel - Seaside Rendezvous (Queen Cover)

- When we first played near the Mediterranean sea a few years back, my manager, Josh, thought it would be cool to do a sneaky little “impromptu” version of “Seaside Rendezvous” on the beach, as the song references the Mediterranean. I think he had seen me playing ukulele on “Good Company” and realized that “Seaside Rendezvous” could also work as a ukulele song. Turns out he was right. Huge props to Tristan for working up a perfect adaptation of the notoriously intricate arrangement of this song off Queen’s A Night At The Opera, for what is essentially a child’s toy! I doubt he could have possibly found a tinier uke. I’ll also have you know, Brandon went out and spent his hard-earned dough on a kazoo and… uh… whatever that whizzy thing at the end of the instrumental section is, just so you could be satisfactorily entertained. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?! “Seaside Rendezvous” is one of those songs that just makes me shake my head like, “How in the world did Freddie write that?!” Truly, a musical genius. My cheeks hurt.

Damn, I really have a problem with Marc Martel and his Queen Cover Songs. I grew up with Queen and saw them several times live back in the days, including Wembley 1986, but I've also seen a lot of Marc Martel videos and I'm a huge fan of Marc. When I hear a Queen song now like "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen" or this song "Seaside Rendezvous" on the radio, I don't see Freddy Mercury in my mind's eye anymore, but Marc Martel. It's totally crazy.🤩🤩
Marc is still the best Singer I ever heard during the last decade. He's so talented.
This is ridiculously good! My normal reaction to hearing people attempt Queen is "SHOOT HIM!!!". But golly...this was truly great version of one of my long-time Queen faves.

The craziest thing is that all those people behind them don't know that Marc Martel is there. In a world that made sense and followed logic they would all be shitting their pants freaking out screaming and crying for him. He is better at doing QUEEN music live than QUEEN were. This is not up for debate. And that's all there is to that.

@@babooshka7601 Yes , but i would expect a totally different version than the original.Marc would nail the notes, but the tessitura on that song it's more of that kind of "leggiero tenor' .Arnel Pineda, nails the song, but it has not that "surfing ease" like Steve had , independently of nailing the notes or not.
"Only the young" works better for a kind of lyric tenor .Would also work for a baritenor(in acoustic mode).Notice that the best versions of only the young are from 86.
But yes it's interesting to hear faithfully also
