I’ve read the passage before and heard the explanation of the wine skins before. Totally forgot about the wine skin explanation, and it came back to me in a Bible study. I was impressed with myself that I remembered it so well. I did however see v.15 as Jesus telling the disciples of John that he was the messiah when he basically called himself the bridegroom. And I equated the rest of the passage as explaining the new covenant as replacing the old covenant. You can’t just attach a new covenant over an old one.
