That gun needs to go back to Smith&Wesson, with a link to this video. They probably screwed up the "performance center job" by filing off too much when they were trying to make a lighter triggerpull, or something like that. But then it looked like it didnt fire at all after the first spontaneous firing? Something stuck inside the trigger mechanism? And how did the transfer bar safety not stop the gun from going off when you weren´t pulling the trigger? That should not be possible. There´s a lesson here kids.. ;) . Never mess with the internals of a firearm, even Smith&Wesson gets it wrong.
I cant believe all these idiots giving you grief saying this is operator error. There is a serious problem with this revolover. Its clear when you try again after the mishap that the sear is not consistently catching the hammer, probably due to too light of springs being a performance center model. Even if you didn't pull the hammer all the way back and it slipped, the transfer bar is SUPPOSED to prevent the hammer from hitting the firing pin, but something is sticking and holding the trigger from springing back which is holding the transfer bar in place and allowing it to fire without your finger on the trigger. Likely just weak springs. Id be sure to show S&W this video and ask what they intend to do for you since this could have cost you or someone else their life.
anyone whos handled a revolver knows that you cant fire from a half cock or even less than a half cock, hell even 90% cock people saying his finger slipped off the hammer doesnt know what they are talking about
Only thing i will mention is that after the event BEFORE you unloaded the Cylinder you had your hand forward of the Cylinder by the barrel while trying to make the malfunction reoccur, the pressure produced by the 500 and especially the 460 can lead to sever injuries of your fingers that close if ut had gone off again..... Im not trying to nitpick you at all.... i just had a buddy hold my 460 like a glock and had to have finger reconstruction
Have S&W deleted the transfer-bar safety system on that thing? It should not fire unless the trigger is in the rearmost position, even if the hammer slips for whatever reason.
If that's a Ruger LCP II in your carry rotation, I'd recommend it not be. I used to EDC an LCP II until I did exactly what you just did, and it did not fire. Light primer strikes, unreliable extraction, etc. Not reliable.
Didn’t look like ya pulled the hammer back fully to me…. I know it’s fun and exciting bud, but slow and steady wins the race. With everything, I’ve learned. Turtle was right!
Texas, gained its independence from Mexico by a militia. It wasn't a country, it had no military and its population wasn't even unified, they were absolutely terrified of being slaughtered by Santa Ana's military. On two prominent battles, the Texans were soundly defeated, so the remaining militia stayed constantly on the move, trying to avoid a direct fight with this massive professional army, until they could gain the upper hand in battle. The independence of Texas is probably the last official use of a large scale militia, that was certainly used for the express purpose of protecting the homeland from invaders. It was the right to keep (own) bear (carry) arms, that kept many people alive in a lawless wild West frontier and it is from those roots and not the war for Independence from Britain, that the NRA holds its popular belief and not some form of takeover conspiracy of a tyrannical government you tried to lay out. Here's the real question: in relation to all the criminal activity in America, should Americans be disarmed? Absolutely not. You get rid of all the hate, all the injury, all the brutality, all the rape, all the home invasions, all the burglaries, all the murders, all the terrorists, all the Jew haters, all the child molesters, all the human trafficking, all the gangs and mafias and we can start to talk about living without guns. Switzerland is uniquely different from America. It is extremely prosperous with very little poverty, if any, because of all their social programs. America is still in the Wild West. It still has stagecoach robbers, bandits, gunslingers, outlaws, and angry natives. If guns go away in America, only the criminals will have them and crime will explode and many many more people are killed because of an inability to protect themselves. Gun violence is only possible, because of a lack of gun owners being allowed to stay armed everywhere they are. How many of the victims of gun violence are armed? Mostly none of them.
Damn it, that would have destroyed my morning and leave me studying the mechanics of this over and over again.

"do not look into the barrel"

Yeah, not worried about the comments. Hopefully others find it useful if they were considering buying
Finger definitely slipped of hammer.
My man, you genuinely have negative luck with firearms
Absolutely cursed
I like to think the universe is testing my firearm safety and PPE lol
@@CACShorts I'd say it is, and you're passing every test with flying colors
@CACShorts If you watch your thumb in the slow mo it pulled the hammer back but didnt lock it back im pretty sure thats why it fired
@katelynbrown4700 that's what it looked like to me
@katelynbrown4700 I saw that too. Thumb not pulling the hammer back all the way and once released fired the round.
4:23. "Yyyep. That's Him."😄.
Yeah man , I played at .25 playback speed from 4:23 - 4:28 where he had played back in slow motion .
Imagine someone breaks in and tried to rob you, you go and confront them, then say “wait I forgot my hearing protection brb” 😂

Looks like some washington grey right there
And my friend always said "Guns don't just magically go off, don't be such a pussy!" when we were growing up....

It's definitely still in there. That's what blew my mind
super weird, it was acting like the trigger was pulled and held down.
Operator error
Why pull in hammer and not lock it?
Dude pulls trigger
*Gun goes off*
* Shocked pikachu *
Gloves let the hammer slip before it locked back. Glad you still have a leg and foot.
He didn't have glove on the hand that cocked the hammer

Yes, it was taken out of the rotation last year haha. Thanks
Makes me think about the Alec Baldwin shooting

If you don't understand why that went off that says a lot.
No such thing as a accidental discharge
imagine having guns that DON'T go off when you accidentally release the hammer before fully cocking it
Sounds like a boring gun 🤭
Wow 🤔

Like & subscribed. Every one counts. Free bullets are the best bullets. Ask if you haven’t,& ask some more. Squeaky wheel gets the bullet.
You should definitely expect the gun to fire when you hold it like that. Stay safe dude
