This video is so relatable. Burnout is real. Overwhelm is real. Needing breaks is real. Love this transparency

I love that you were transparent about the feelings of giving up that I’m sure so so many moms feel at one time or another!

I loved what I was doing with my writing job last year but...like you, I got to the point where I could not do it all. 4-5 hours of intense writing a day--squeezed into naptimes and before the kids went to bed...while I still had a baby waking up about 3 times a night.

Great content! Super helpful. I would love some practical tips and ideas on what your kids can do while you’re working. Or even how to set them up to do independent school work well while you’re working especially when they are little. For example: what were they doing while you were making this video?

Great question! Often my kids are doing screen time while I record videos, so video games or watching PBS kids. OR they were doing their quiet reading time 30 minutes to an hour of them reading or looking at books on their own.
But they have a list of individual work they know they have to do before screens. And I have also just trained them to play together or on their own if we don’t have screens. When they were LITTLE, my best bet was to work early in the morning, late at night, and/or during nap-time. Having a running list of toys or activities the kids like to do without you is helpful. Like playdoh, or sensory bins, legos are a good one. My kids like drawing comics, reading. A good thing that keeps my kids occupied and quiet without screens is go to the library, get a bunch of books, and then set the books out in the living room and they’ll stay quiet for a while! Lol, Hopefully that helps!

Yes! Choosing your priorities is essential. Seasonally, Monthly, Weekly, Daily. Really enjoyed your video and hearing more about your work! Thank you for being honest... I think we all go through periods when we question whether we can really continue to homeschool, or we should just send the kids to school! It's real life!

Oh yes. Relatable. Sometimes I’m on top of it and sometimes I quit for a season.

We tried homeschooling *almost year round last year, I started my kids a bit lower in the homeschool programs and so used that summer time to catch them up to grade level, that was hard but I feel like it was worth it. These homeschool programs seem so much more comprehensive than what they had in public!

I get burned out doing homeschooling and medical school but I make it work but still figuring it out. We love year round homeschool as we can take breaks as needed. I’m glad I’m doing medical school part time but still do full time placements. Coffee helps but it only works for so long. My kids do their independent work at the same time as I study and my doctor does some of my work with me depending upon what it is as she’s doing a basic pre med course that I’m making for her.

Blocking off is such a good idea. I make lists, but then tend to bounce from one thing to the next, without a real consistency and end up not doing super well with anything. Haha! 😅💕💕

Don’t forget maintaining your marriage… sometimes the marriage is the last thing we tend to. I’m guilty of it. It’s not easy to juggle it all.

You are so right 💛 This was me last year. I had let my marriage slip to the bottom of my priority ladder and my husband and I were really struggling. We had a blow out in June after my husband had broke his foot after kicking a wall, and I had finally spoke words to him that I was actually thinking. It was an awful fight 😣 But we decided to press towards each other after that, instead of away, and asked for our close friends to pray. We have grown closer over the last year, but it really takes me being intentional about putting our marriage first and communicating my needs to my husband.

I feel when it comes to writing she don’t want to write anything and she wants to draw pictures and not her letters and when I tell to stop drawing and do her letters she starts crying what should I do?

Let her be. Children learn in different ways. Don't suppress how she expresses herself :)
