I mean, at some point Chris Claremont should have retired from writing. I like his X-Men stuff but on other comics not so much. Definitely doesn't work with Cyber Force.
1:04 Jim Lee's first interior for Marvel was Alpha Flight #53 --- which came out at the end of 1987 --- looks VERY DIFFERENT than say X-men #1.... which came out ONLY 3 years later. It doesn't take that long to 're-invent' yourself if you''re ready for a change.
