Hello agreed on that an engineers dream some work some didn’t great era in drag racing thanks so much for your comments and being on my UA-cam channel. Thank you.👌✌️
I remember most of these rods. When I was a kid growing up in the 60's+70's. And have seen some of them run. At Beeline drag way outside Phoenix AZ. Great pictures. I always wonder what happened to the "Piranha" Thanks !
Hello Daniel, great memories we grew up in the best of times for drag racing Yes the Piranha has a home with Big daddy.stay tuned for coverage of Big Daddy’s Mopar show thanks for your comments 👍✌️
Hello Andy, agreed well, I’d have to get that car off the trailer and run down the corner but yeah that’s a great idea to use it as you every day transportation with the drag car in the back you would definitely be noticed. Thanks so much for being on my UA-cam channel and your comments. Thank you.👍😎
Hello Randy, I wish I could’ve been over on the left coast back then I was stuck over on the right coast going to get nationals which wasn’t bad but everything was happening out in California back then thanks for your comments and being on my UA-cam channel thank you 👍😎
Amazing cars. The late 60s through early 70’s are absolutely the best styling in production cars, hot rods, dragsters and funny cars, show cars, what-have-you.
So many unique drag racing machines from the 70s. Don Schumacher's Wonder Wagon Vega panel wagon funny car that was painted like a loaf of bread. Hell On Wheels army tank wheelstander. Doug Rose's Green Mamba that looked like a giant green snake. Knott's Berry Farm wheelstander that looked like an old delivery truck. Saw a rocket powered go kart at Fremont. Insane. We'll never see that creativity in drag racing again.
Hello wow so those are the backbone of drag racing back in the day. I personally saw Doug roses green mamba several times they would anchor it down and put a car behind it and just light that car up until it was a shell but I did see it run also back in the day Schumacher wonder wagon was a super cool piece. Great memories thanks so much for your comments and pleased. Subscribed my UA-cam channel. Appreciate you. 👍😎
I was wondering the other day about what had happened to the Barber John Impala . He was from the Laporte , Indiana area , and had bought the car when it was new . I remember him getting it out to run the nostalgia races , in the early ninties . He was a good guy .
Hello Bob He’s a super nice guy we were talking at Bristol and at the nationals definitely a unique drag car to say the least thanks for your comments 👍😎
Hello Gary wow that’s cool one of those moments you remember in life we forget about a lot of other things but we always remember unique drag cars lol thanks for your comments. Thank you for being on my UA-cam channel.👍☮️
What dreams are made of, the funny cars. My two favorite cars are, Mongoose and Cobra, I'm now 67years old, as a kid growing up in the 60s I remember those two cars as being the coolest cars around, long live the child in all of us.💓💓💓💓💓😎🤗😏🙃😉
Hello Brian agreed When we were kids and saw these cars running, it was amazing. I don’t think I ever got anything that got my attention as a funny car did back in the day. You just couldn’t wait to hear these fire breathing Hemi back in the day You know, in today’s world there’s really nothing like it was back in the day. There were so many people went to the dragstrip. It was a huge family gathering that everybody went. I grew up going to Gatornationals me and my dad and a couple friends would go and camp for four days by the track it was the best getting back into Nhra again after being away for 15 years it’s pretty cool still I’m enjoying it. Thank you so much for your support and being on my UA-cam channel. Thank you. 😎✌️
Hello John, you may be 70 but when you see these cars you feel like you’re 40 again don’t you? Thanks so much for your comments appreciate you being on my UA-cam channel. Have a great day. 👍😎✌️
Hello well that’s one way of looking at it, but on the other hand, it’s preserving the history of drag racing because it gives a lot of people chances to visit the museum and learn more about it if they’re not a long-time fan and the young kids need to know about this history as well so it’s preserving the history of Nhra and drag racing thanks for your comments👌✌️
Limelight Dodge Charger was campaigned by the McKesson bro. Bill had a falling out with his brother and continued racing. Bill has a plumbing business in Novi, MI.
I saw those cars race back in the day… the Lil Red Wagon against the LA Dart, Dart went off of the track during his wheelie! In the end all was well, no real damage.
Hello Mark, thanks for sharing your memories of those great nostalgia, wheelie machines wow that must’ve been a sight seeing that dart wreck nothing must be a handful to drive. Thanks so much for sharing your stories. Thanks for being on my UA-cam channel.👍😎
Hello Joe, you are correct. It would behoove me to take some time and study what I’m filming but I’m ADHD and I just roll through and unfortunately makes some mistakes. Sometimes my stuff is not perfect. I don’t edit anything. I’ve done this complete project with a cell phone and reached 4.7 million people this is just for fun. I wanted to bring the passion I have for muscle cars and drag racing to the world and it’s working. Thanks for the info.👍😎
@@MUSCLECARCORNER426 it's all good sir. The comment I made was for the unfamiliar viewer, more than for you. I already recognize your knowledge and experience. I also appreciate what you are doing and the good job of it.
Hey Joe, appreciate that, sir. I don’t know at all. I got that CRS syndrome sometimes it affects me but that’s part of being old and having some knowledge appreciate your comments Have a great Saturday.☮️
I'm pretty sure it was Maple Grove, the background looks very similar to York. I think it was Maple Grove along the staging lanes, MG was my local track and I started going there in the late 60s early 70s so I usually recognize it in pictures.
@@myretirementlife8731 your correct I was thinking Maple Grove.so many dragstrips so many years going down the turn pike looking for exits I remember how beautiful it was Evan in traffic trying to get out.
Do you think the photo is a phony? (pony?) I'm not sure what you mean, but he car is the real deal. It's the Kens Automotive "Odd Couple". Small block Chevy with Hemi ran in Top Gas Eliminator. Car worked great and took the Top Gas class at Pomona in 1971. Both engines do not have to be the same to work together. There were a few cars with different combos of engines including the Coburn Miller special from the early 60's, which also ran a SBC/Hemi set up. Thanks for posting!
Hello John thank you sir for that great information on this car. I’ve never seen a picture of it what a weird combination in that era there was a lot of strange combinations appreciate you bringing that information to my UA-cam channel. Thank you so much. Sure appreciate you. 👍😎
Hello Joe, I did not notice that, sir. I’ll have to look at that. Thank you so much for that and being on my UA-cam channel thank you and please subscribe.✌️👍
Hello, yes it’s just going through the years of changes in Nhra. Great to look back at that arrow. Thanks so much for your comments and being on my UA-cam channel. Appreciate it.😎
The creativity and craftsmanship of these 60's and 70's cars still amazes me today.

I passed the Back up pickup on I-5 in 1968. It was being carried on a slantback carrier.

Every time I see Don Garlits museum I feel a sense of sadness that so many of the cars should be out on the track instead of just sitting there.
Many wouldn’t pass tech. You’d need to run at an outlaw track.
These GEMS have paid their dues. They all deserve to be sitting right here, so Everyone can come see them whenever we feel the need. ❤❤

For the Mooneyham & Sharp style coupes back in the day with a class designation of AA/FC, the FC stood for Fuel Coupe not Funny Car

The multi-engined dragsters look awesome but, I can’t imagine two engines blowing up and shrapnel destroys your head. 😷🤕
