My Grandfather was from Barcelona and grandmother from Italy. I cooked with my grandma when I was young and memorized her recipes, but my grandfather passed away when I was young, and his recipes were lost. I was in Barcelona in the early 70's and ate at what was considered one of the 10 best restaurants in the world at the time and was amazed at the food. This channel has given me the incentive to explore the food of part of my heritage...Thank you, thank you....

I substitue bread with Endives, stand out and look pretty, they satisfy the majority of guests. Try mixing goat cheese with honey and walnut, fill endived leaves then decorate with peeled Clementine wedges. Yum!
Tapas are my favorite! All your tapas were fantastic. Loved them all. Pan con Tomate is a staple here with our garden tomatoes in the summer. Oh I loved that tomato anchovy one too. Wow, I had forgotten about the manchego, strawberry jam and walnuts. So long ago.... Excellent ten tapas, Brother! Mouthwatering. All my best to you all for 2020!
Last night our neighbor invited us for apps and drinks. I quickly pulled together four of these tapas, and they were the star of the show! These tapas are so easy and so delicious. My personal favorite: Manchego/strawberry jam/rosemary. Super yum!

I heard a true and reliable story of a man (TV celebrity), who once swapped his car for some tapas. Naturally people thought he was crazy but, since then I wondered what was so special about tapas. Now I understand! I'm not so sure I'd swap my car for some, but there are some really interesting flavour combinations there, which I am definitely going to try.
LOVE THIS. Reminds me of dar tapeo with my amigos about 10-11pm in Madrid. I also used to do a sherry vinegar reduction with sugar (you have to watch that carefully, stirring until it gets syrupy. Fresh figs, halved, a thin slice of cabrales (Spanish sharp blue cheese for people who don't know) And then drizzle the sherry vinegar reduction on top. A total hit!
