This is by far the best, visually and information wise, light video I've ever seen! So much info and your plant room is inspirational 🙌 💚 Thanks so much for your hard work!
Wow! You have a wealth of wonderful information! It is a lot to take in! We are picking up our IKEA cabinet today and then will refer to your first video on how to order the shelves and inside lights and fans! I am a little nervous but excited!
Being now darker nights in the U.K. now I purchased two Garpsen LED Plant Grow Light, Full Spectrum Grow Lights for Indoor Plants, 315 LEDs . This is my first year I started buying real plants 🪴 and these are my first ever grow lights. I also ordered two sets, had them on last night & WOW the amount of light coming out is excellent.
You have a very beautiful plant area! I have been watching a lot of videos about grow lights, and most don't seem to be concerned with how ugly a lot of them are. Your's look very tasteful!
Wow, sounds like you have a challenge growing topicals up there in Canada. It's hard enough for us in Missouri with only 5 months of bad winter weather to deal with. But all that said, I love having the tropicals inside in brightly lite rooms during the dark winter months. Very calming and relaxing. Thanks for sharing your setup!
Really useful, thank you! I'm in North West UK and light is an absolute nightmare here for 6 months too. Just bought the 36w Sansi and I've been looking at the Aspect, I'll have to invest soon. Your cats and apartment are beautiful too!
So helpful Hanie, thank you for this video. I think my next lights will now be Rousseau. I have the Soltech's, which I love but I like the colour temperature of the Rousseau more.
Can you please please do a video on your soil mix? Your plant tour video popped up in my feed and I loved it. But want to know about the soil mix you use AND your plant pots. The plastic trellis, grow thickly moss poles, and the trellis that was in your Philodendron Ghost terracotta pot. Please do videos on these.
Hanie, super job on your lighting video. One of the most comprehensive with all the information we need for an intelligent decision. Is that a Sinningia leucotricha next to you Phyllanthus mirabilis? If it is I have recently added two to my collection. I like the above ground tuber with the fuzzy silver leaves and its hallmark salmon tubular flowers. A truly unique plant for those of us that like the unusual!
Thanks so much Peter, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😊 It is a Sinningia! It’s a bit dormant right now (stopped growing months ago) but hopefully it’ll wake up again soon 😍
Just love this VD so stunning and everything and you have no furniture unless this is a different part of the house ha ha thank you for this video. This is my come to video beside charmaine to just relax and enjoy and fantasize and take notes🤓I live in New York City. My name is charmaine also again happy plan day.💚💚💚💚🤩🤗
This is so helpful! Thank you for sharing! Have you noticed that any of the lights get very hot to the touch? (I’m particularly the Rousseau and Soltech lights)
4:10 - 4:25 that's a fallacy, the sansi has a wider angle and less parabolic concentration. If you measure "ambient" positions that aren't in the orthograde right beneath the straight lamp, the Sansi will show its greater wattage and ppfd or candle units.
This was soooo helpful as a plant newbie, especially from a fellow Edmontonian 💚 Do you find your light meter gives you accurate results? I keep reading that only par meters should be used with LED grow lights but others say no. So confusing.
So the mother light isn’t as warm as the Soltech light? I was thinking about doing some overhead lighting in my room and the mother strip would be great but I don’t want a super cool color. Soltech is so nice. It’s like the perfect lighting in my place.
The PPFD that these companies list really doesn't mean anything because this all changes depending on how far the plant is from the light source. I really liked the fact that you started off using a light meter to compare the FC of similar lights, but why did you stop doing that?
Hello, awesome video, I have a quick question, do you recommend having a closed glass shelf for the plants especially if you are growing veggies and fruits? Thank you for time
I knew I should have looked up videos before buying them. I bought some grow lights on amazon but its about the size of say a desk light because I only need a small one for my succulent. It was only $14, so now looking at your lights. Is it possible it might just be a desk light and I shouldn’t rely on it? It is describe on amazon as a grow light though.
it's micro-mol. not u-mol. the greek letter is miu. Micromole μmol/s (micromole) is the unit in which P.A.R. is expressed. This unit indicates how many micromoles per second a light source emits. μmol/s is one-millionth of a mol (10−6 mol).
@@soleilrium But from the number of Soltech lights you have vs others - you must somewhat prefer them more in your space 🤔 Great round up of all these brands with their ppfd values
I just got a bunch of them last year before I really found out about the others! I just ordered another Rousseau too :) Thanks Anita, I know this video is a bit dry hahahaha I struggled with it a bit but the next one will be more interesting I think!
You totally can! I had that one before as well and it was effective but visually too cool-toned and harsh for my liking. Just personal preferences though, and that's a great budget bulb if that's what you're after! 💚
@@soleilrium Hmm, mine have never been cool-toned. It all depends on the 'Kelvin'. Yeah I wouldn't like blue tone either. Mine have always been a beautiful white.
Even white light can be warm toned or cool toned (just like the growlights I showed in my video)! :). It’s just that I personally prefer a warmer tone (3-4000 Kelvins) for my indoor ambiance as I find it cozier and less harsh on my eyes.

Your cat must be a frickin saint. I can’t have a SINGLE indoor plant.
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much this video was so clear and informative. You’re amazing for that!

Soltech’s Black Friday deals are definitely worth waiting for 😉 I have yet to buy them though but the 2 pack bundle was $200 USD

Beautiful plants and setup. So ,so ,pretty. Love all the plants.

Love this video and from my home city! ❤ I can’t wait for more videos
More to come! Thank you for watching 💚💚
Wow!! What is that philodendron with the new red leaf?
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you 😍😍
You have beautiful plants and cats 💕
Please make more video's, i love them so much.
This is so helpful! Thank you for sharing! Have you noticed that any of the lights get very hot to the touch? (I’m particularly the Rousseau and Soltech lights)
To be honest I haven’t had to touch them since they are on the ceiling so I’m not sure! No issues so far though :)
4:10 - 4:25 that's a fallacy, the sansi has a wider angle and less parabolic concentration. If you measure "ambient" positions that aren't in the orthograde right beneath the straight lamp, the Sansi will show its greater wattage and ppfd or candle units.
Beautiful and very informative. thank you
The plants are really beautiful. According to your vegetation, you can look at the plant lights of our company's bracket or desktop models.
In love with your setup! Whered you get rhat cay hammock? Need one for my kitty
This was soooo helpful as a plant newbie, especially from a fellow Edmontonian 💚 Do you find your light meter gives you accurate results? I keep reading that only par meters should be used with LED grow lights but others say no. So confusing.

well done. good product.

That’s right, Soltech is the warmest! The Mother light isn’t super cool though, it is just a neutral white :)
Are you getting the new mother light?
I really want to but can’t justify it right now as I have so many grow lights :(
Love the extra actor meow lol
The PPFD that these companies list really doesn't mean anything because this all changes depending on how far the plant is from the light source.

hi, at @6:32 what's the name of that plant growing on the moss pole and next to the red leaf? I have a similar one, but dont know the ID/name. thanks.
Hoya plants? They are so pretty!!
How did you angle the the hanging pendant light? Please help
What light meter do you use, please?
Any idea of how expensive it’s to power all these indoor grow lights? There is a device called KillAWatt that can measure it.
Hello, awesome video, I have a quick question, do you recommend having a closed glass shelf for the plants especially if you are growing veggies and fruits?
Thank you for time
Hi! I wouldn’t recommend it for veggies and fruits because they will quickly outgrow it!
@@soleilrium thank you. My apartment gets dusty and I wanted to grow some peppers and thought the glass cabinet would be beneficial

Hopefully if it’s described as a growlight then it is one! Normal lights work for plants as well but just not as efficiently :)
How many days does it take you to water ur plets
Love it❤
What is the foot candles for the mother light at a meter away?
9:50 info on that cute cat bed ?
Do you have any advice for keeping cats from eating your plants?
Hello, i probably never get a reply but 6:31 is that Esmeraldense with red leaf ? Thanks a lot.
It is! :)
Nice.
Beautiful
this is very very beautiful..😍
That Soltech literally just looks like the bulbs with a large pvc pipe surrounding it... Good to know I can save $200 on that one haha
do you start your growlight at day? not night?
They start in the morning and turn off at night :)
What would an affordable warm light for lights? 😭
Is growing plants in Canada easy?
Depends on where in Canada! Where I live it gets really dry and dark and cold so not super ideal🥲
it's micro-mol. not u-mol.
the greek letter is miu.
Micromole μmol/s (micromole) is the unit in which P.A.R. is expressed. This unit indicates how many micromoles per second a light source emits. μmol/s is one-millionth of a mol (10−6 mol).

Wow, that is way too much money to spend on bulbs! You can get GE Full Spectrum LED bulbs for super cheap compared to those!
You totally can! I had that one before as well and it was effective but visually too cool-toned and harsh for my liking. Just personal preferences though, and that's a great budget bulb if that's what you're after! 💚

Buy a 30$ sansei 36w bulb and your own fixture . A lot of these are sooooo overpriced just for looks
I think your room is beautiful, but I hope you wear eye protection if you are in there often. Thank you for the video.
"u" mol? It's micro mol! 😅
Haha my bad
Good video, but as a vet tech there are a few plants that can make the cat sick if she nibbles. Please research dear
Hi, I am 100% aware of that but none of my cats nibble on any plants. :) Thank you for the concern!
