Gary, gary, gary... I lovvvee your videos. You are always so thorough and clean. Please do not stop making videos. You dont even know it but you are my youtube hero. Im telling all my buddys to subscribe. Much respect👍.
Weight reduction is important when it comes to performance.. im not a racer but enjoy the knowledge and the clear procedures you give to get this done.. very easy to understand your instructions. If i keep watching your videos ill be a genius! :)
I own a ls1 camaro myself, and this really helped me with the power steering delete because I didn't know the belt size I needed and there was not many forums that I could find to tell me... although there is one thing you forgot to add with the power steering removal, that bolt that you already had removed in the video is IMPOSSIBLE to remove unless you have a pully puller... you for sure need one to remove the pully before u can remove the power steering pump. other than that, great video man.
I know it's been years since this comment but, you don't need a pulley puller to remove the power steering bracket. You can remove the two bolts for the pump with a wrench and that will separate the pump from the mounting bracket then, you can remove the bracket bolts. I've done it trust me lol
Did this on my LS1 1999 Camaro SS. It's true you can feel more power and car seems to rev quciker. Maybe it's because I had a slowly failing steering pump but the belt I used from Autozone has held up 40,000+ hard miles. Steering ain't bad unless you try to park in a tight parking lot on a hot day. When you go faster than 20MPH you don't even realize the pump is off.
Hey thanks for posting the video. I was wondering though how you knew to get that specific belt? I'm planning on a power steering delete for a 1985 300zx and I'm not sure how to choose the right size for a replacement belt.
I would have put a ribbed pulley where that smooth one was so you get adequate belt wrap around the water pump. would have been minimal cost to the build.
No prob on my 1999 SS 40K high reving miles on that belt and the waterpump stays at the same temp on my guage or HP TUNERS Software doing live runs. No slippage or anything knock on wood..............................
kind of looks like your belt is only contacting 20-25% max of the water pump pulley. I'd be a little nervous about that slipping under high rpm and heavy acceleration.
Hey mate my concern is the lack of belt on the water pump, as a follow up has there been any issues regarding heating/cooling and any issues with the bolt and the belt at high rpm?
Meanwhile, after the delete, You had to replace the battery several times as the harmonic balancer (the main pull) could only grip about 1/3 of the serpentine belt and was not charging the battery as it was slipping.

True same here and left it on. You can rent the puller at a local parts store but I was too lazy and left it on lol.
How does the car ride after the delete??

Thank you bro you just saved me a headache and in great detail appreciate it keep up the great work
Glad I could help
Excellent video. Thank you for the step by step instructions and for stating the alternative belt part number.
Own a Subaru but still watched and liked

What’s the part number to the belt with the power steering pump
But how did you get that third bolt off?

Resarch on the internet. Measure what you need and look for a belt size.

What you do about the bolt in the alternator
How did you get that first bolt you already had out, out?
Did you ever make the "de-power the rack" video you said would be next? I don't see it in your list of videos.
Your right to remove the power steering , dead weight .
Not needed on the 240 , small car not difficult to steer...
Shorter belt = Big difference!
I’m trying to figure out a setup for ac with no ps

Nope, read my comment above.
Bro, you saved me so much time!
Hello. I have the case with my Toyota Celica 2002.... What sizes will use?...
keep up the gud work
Anyone know if this belt will fit with 145 amp alternator?
Did you ever find out?
Can you do that on a 2005 Chevy impala Ls 3800
Not sure.
do u wanna sell power steering pump with brackets?
That was funny 😄
Might as well do the alternator and water pump

The belt was still in the original place it was before the delete.
There isn't manual steering for 240sx.
Depower the steering rack
Fails to mention he also deleted the ac compressor.
Therefore the belt he used wont work on engine with ac.
Ac belt runs behind water pump belt so it’s fine. I have an Australian ls1 in a vx commodore though so maybe it’s just an American car thing
Interesting
Sell me complete power steering pump.
