This procedure saved my life when one of my blood clots detached and traveled to my longs. Thank you to entire vascular team at Alexian Brothers hospital 🙏❤️ If I could give just one advice to every person it would definitely be PLEASE STOP SMOKING!!!
I appreciate this comment. As a first-year cellular and molecular medicine student, I've been focused on passing exams and memorizing material. Today, I was struck by the realization that the conditions we study are real and affect real people, which has evoked strong emotions in me. Initially interested in lab work for my career, encounters like this make me lean towards becoming a clinical scientist in the ICU, working with patients and families. Your inspiring words mean a lot to me, and I hope your recovery is going well.
@@primeirrational I'm studying a masters degree in cellular and molecular medicine. In the case of a patient having a blood clot removed, as a cellular and molecular scientist I would be sent the sample and once in my lab, i'd identify specific proteins or genes that are involved in the clotting process to understand the underlying mechanisms of clotting disorders. I work in medical research, but i'd like to move to hospital settings so I can study a broader range of samples and significantly more of them than I do now.

@@MedMicroBioMe good luck with your study!
Thought mechanical thrombectomy is for brain clots only?
Bless the Drs n surgeons for their skills n technology too, saving ordinary loved ones lives. Bravo
Nice to see such a simple, elegant demonstration - but please reconsider the incidental music - it is so distracting
Hats off for you dr
Bravo Cher Robert
*REMARKABLE YOU CAN GO INTO THE ACTUAL BRAIN CONSIDERING HOW SMALL VESSELS ARE IN BRAIN AND BRAIN SO SOFT*
