samantha whos channel 'trying to get by' is absolutely brilliant. also a lovely lady called Lizzie who lives in Wales and her channel is 'frugal lizzie bee' i used to watch Tess too❤
I watch them all! I'd like to add: Frugal Lizzy Bee who is a fabulous young woman.. based in South Wales. I watched Frugal Joe & Tess for years & miss them not posting here... they were both fabulous & are missed. Thanks for your fabulous channel too 🎉 Rose
I'm subscribed to everyone you mention apart from Nicola. Must look her up. I would certainly add Shoestring Jane as one of my faves! 😊 I love your channel Jane because you are not afraid to show us exactly how you live including sorting out clutter, which is something I can certainly relate to 🤔 Angie ❤
I'll go and check some of those channels out, thank you. I do watch What Viv did next and like her mindset, some of these frugal channels can come across as quite patronising and smug, I'm thinking of one in particular but it's popular so perhaps that just as they come across to me, lol.
iam 56 and currently working for a big supermarket doing a seasonal job which hopefully will continue in to the new year and i only intend to work part time so we are always watching what we spend so iam not working all the hours and still have time to keep the house up also my hubby works full time so i think we are lucky x
Love frugal Queen in France have been following since her blog and like you I was very disappointed when it disappeared and love the vlog. My favourite Australian channel is Nyssa at Our Small Footprint a large family living off grid in Australia and cooking mainly from scratch. Well worth seeing. My other favourite is Frugal Stu it’s great to see a male perspective and now following along on his weight loss journey
Hi Jane, I second your choices, I've just watched Vivi's latest vid and remember 'Froogs' from the old days of her blogs. I miss Frugal Jo, she was so easy to listen to and could make a pound do the work of 2 or maybe even 3. I watch more UA-cam than TV these days and have started to notice how some channels grow at a steady rate and others go off like a rocket like Ali did. With Ali she didn't really explain her situation in her first video very well so she got a dozens or was it 100's of comments querying her pension income and UA-cam loves engagement like that so her video got into people's feeds much faster than might have been expected. Another one that has gone off like a rocket is Rewilding Jude. It's not a frugal channel as such, it's more about simple living and cottage renovation but that is all secondary to just being in his company as he's just a joy to watch and his unusual backstory is such that all his comments are mostly SO supportive and kind. He started in September and he's got 45,000 subscribers already. UA-cam is a funny old place isn't it?
@@ShoestringJane Jude has only done 17 vids, the Q&A one fills in the backstory (it's sad, but uplifting all at the same time) and the rest are perfect for binge-watching. Also you might want to dip into his old channel 'Jude Harper' for his old life as a yarn dyer and then the backstory will be complete
@@poppy6488 You aren't alone, he has such a huge UA-cam family that tune in each week to watch him do a bit of DIY and gardening. We can't replace his real family but it will surely make him feel supported
I miss Frugal Jo, but I enjoy watching also Meanqueen, Amelia, Prepper Princess who has many practical ideas...I love both Frugal queen and Under the median, but I m going to check out the other channels (even though I remember Vivi s videos were quite long😂).thank you😊
Thanks Jane for the recommendations. I follow 3 of the lovely ladies and will check out the other two. You are on top of my list for watching Jane. I love your quiet, warm manner and I especially love your recipes. I don’t eat lentils etc, only baked beans in a can 😁 and hope to try some of your recipes. I don’t like spicy foods so makes it hard to go more to the vegan side. Wishing you and Mike and family a very Merry Christmas and look forward to many more happy hours watching and leaning so much from your channel. Lorraine 🎄🤗
I find that many of us are 'like minded' and watch many of the same channels.... I often see the same names in the comments. I've been following Vivi for years. My situation was similar and worsened when the Govt robbed our pensions so I was supplementing with food from my garden, sewing and doing a bit for others volunteering and sold a lot of my possessions. .... so I knew she could and would manage . I haven't got the skills to do you tube.... I now have my pension , 6 years later than expected, but still live very frugally because I don't need 'stuff'.
@@ShoestringJane I did try years ago...Back then I had a show garden... Now it's just a 'show'! My hands are too shaky to film and I don't have the mobility, technology or the internet, just my phone....
Another good frugal channel to watch is Amelia’s frugal life she’s a young married girl with 3 young children. Also Leanne Jayne she’s another nice lady to watch . X
I watch frugal queen in France but I find her sometimes preaching and miserable ,great ideas but whereas you come across as very nice she doesn’t sometimes come across very well def hoping to look at the others you mentioned
@ you can tell she was a teacher but fair play to her amazing meals from scratch great cook and yesterday’s vlog good ,as she was outside ,it’s the endless preaching I don’t like ,but then I don’t have to watch do I . I didn’t want to sound to mean about it as I think the ideas are good boy oh so boring
@@raymondtwitchett488 I think a bit of cheerfulness along with tightening of belts is a good combination. Lots of good bloggers out there to watch instead. Ali of Ali lives well on less is an ex teacher but cheery and positive.
I enjoy watching the frugal living/budgeting channels for tips and ideas, however sadly there are some I have stopped watching as the individual seems to have become very judgemental and superior in their attitude towards anyone they deem to be wasting money, such as buying technology. Why do they get angry about what others are spending their money on! It's none of their business
Yes I own 2 small houses after selling my family home to downsize when I retired early and a family member lives in one of them as they have health issues. I charge them a small rent that covers costs, no profit there. And yes I donate my YT earnings to charity. All of this has been talked about many times on my channel 🙂
Interesting youtubers to check out. I already follow Frugal in France. Here are a few others to check out. All are US based. Frugal Money Saver, Under the Median, DebtFreeDana, Kate Kaden, and Frugal Fit Mom.
I really enjoy these, one of my favourites is sensibly frugal living and befree befrugal too x
I watch four out of your five. All nice, cheery, sensible folk along with you too Jane!

I really find Ali and Vivi both very inspirational and positive. You always feel so much better after you’ve watched them.
Thanks for these. I didnt know the Ali lives well with less so looking forward looking at her videos. I watch the other ones already. Thanks
Can I suggest. "sensible living with money mom". Have been following her for years, her videos are short and the point, really like her.....😊
