As a proud South African dedicating a song to Mozambique. Mama Africa would be so dissapointed with the division and xenophobia in South Africa today 😢
As guinean , where she took refuge , I had a chance to meet her and her granddaughter Zinzi , unforgettable moment.. I wish my people would take good care of her house in Dalaba. Rip Mama Africa.
I had the privilege of seeing her "live" in a club in Dar es Salaam Tanzania...having fled South Africa's apartheid regime... I was only 5 years old... Miriam was relatively unknown then... ...many many years later I saw her again in London ...as she had become a massive star and a legend of African music... Mama Africa.. Her music ...and her life has been incredible...she is one of my favourite person of all time...R.I.P... Mama Africa. You had a big impact on that little 5 year old boy...as my parents and me... had to flee from Kenya during the Mau Mau..struggle for independence... against the British empire..!!! We both took refuge in Tanzania...a beautiful country and its people... blessings to all my Tanzanian brothers and sisters.... Aluta continua 🌍♥️ as Africa is still not totally free from the legacy of colonialism sadly... One LOVE... ONE Mama Africa.... Aluta continua....
I'm a Kenyan, but I'm so proud of Tanzania 🇹🇿 and I seriously love that great nation which helped many of our African brothers in their struggle for Independence. Nawapenda Sana Tanzania. Nawatakia mema. Aluta Continua!
I am a Tanzanian! And an opposition party (Chadema) made a demonstration today in Mwanza. I was listening to Tundu Lissu's speech and congratulated him through a post on UA-cam. At the end of my post I concluded with the call, "A luta continua!" Then surprisingly I found here Makeba's "A luta continua song!" Truly, struggles should continue to win back justice, freedom and equality for all even from our own people who have decided to go against us, owners of the soil!
2023 and here I am to enjoy this song once more. I wish I was born in the days when Afrikans sang meaningful songs. But thanks to the technologies that preserved this songs for future generations. God bless Makeba's soul
Honor to the queen of Africa ... Miriam Makeba. Few people are capable of fully appreciating not only the beauty or artistic quality of this wonderful woman, but especially the historical and symbolic significance of her mission in art. The message of some of his songs, in whose lyrics a social claim is raised ... transcends the merely political, goes to the essence of the ethnic, to the authenticity of the human.

I came here exactly for this comment. I heard it yesterday on Heritage day. Have the unfortunate experience of being at work where I have to listen to people casually refer to the day as braai day and how they will be spending it using wood to braai and choice assortment of meat without flinching. Aluta continua indeed
The great woman, stalwartress . Still love, used to dance for these songs Aluta Continua became our slogan in the struggle against the wicked regime of our time.
