Usman was a different fighter when he went against Covington. He had to be. He was the same against Leon the second time, but that knockout affected him for sure.
Completely diff fighter after that knockout. Not fighting confidently, second guessing himself. He still made Leon move backwards but he defended nothing except being careful of the headkick which made Leon just target the legs and body.

How's it an easy fight for Colby? Leon did what he couldn't do twice. And just like Kamaru Colby's submission skills is not high level enough to pose threat on the ground like Khamzat, Shavkat and Burns. He can ground out a victory sure but that gas tank ain't going to amount to much with the leg kicks and body work Leon puts together plus his TDD. And Leon is too high a tier in terms of striking for Colby to stand with him. It's not an easy fight. And the guy honestly has a very good gas tank as well cause he was fighting off the back foot a bunch of times with Kamaru and even with the altitude in the first fight he was still in it cause Kamaru couldn't finish him.
I felt like Usman hurt leon on the feet more, but was clearly getting outstruck with volume to the body and legs and was unable to get his takedowns going. The 49-46 from the judges was wild though. Seeing some of the judges give round 2 to Leon told me everything I needed to know about the UK.
Right they just hate wrestling, I was impressed by Leon’s takedown defense but I did not see backing up letting usman control the pace and octagon the whole fight. All he was doing was backing up throwing leg kicks defending take downs. I saw it as a draw but if anyone won I thought it’d be usman
I respectfully disagree, Leon absolutely won that fight. Round 2 was a close. When I rewatched it, both fighters had similar offense, it came down to a single heavy strike for each man. Leon's knee was bigger than kamaru's punch. The knee got the way bigger reaction. Thus, Leon won round 2 imo.
What fight did you watch and how much crack did you smoke beforehand? Leon clearly hurt Usman way more. Battered his legs, landed huge body shots, and a massive knee. A huge knee and body kicks in round 2 scores more than one nice right hand and a takedown that did nothing to change the fight. Usman was tentative, getting potshotted constantly, and was completely unable to establish consistent offence or control. Usman didn't really do much of anything.
Leon’s gonna have to make a huge adjustment for Colby. Colbys gonna mix in takedowns with his striking and every time Usman did that to Leon, he was able to take Leon down every time. Hard to not see Colby doing the same thing but at a more ruthless pace.

Leon did what he couldn't do twice.
And just like Kamaru Colby's submission skills is not high level enough to pose threat on the ground like Khamzat, Shavkat and Burns.
He can ground out a victory sure but that gas tank ain't going to amount to much with the leg kicks and body work Leon puts together plus his TDD.
And Leon is too high a tier in terms of striking for Colby to stand with him.
It's not an easy fight. And the guy honestly has a very good gas tank as well cause he was fighting off the back foot a bunch of times with Kamaru and even with the altitude in the first fight he was still in it cause Kamaru couldn't finish him.

I felt like Usman hurt leon on the feet more, but was clearly getting outstruck with volume to the body and legs and was unable to get his takedowns going. The 49-46 from the judges was wild though. Seeing some of the judges give round 2 to Leon told me everything I needed to know about the UK.

I respectfully disagree, Leon absolutely won that fight. Round 2 was a close. When I rewatched it, both fighters had similar offense, it came down to a single heavy strike for each man. Leon's knee was bigger than kamaru's punch. The knee got the way bigger reaction. Thus, Leon won round 2 imo.
What fight did you watch and how much crack did you smoke beforehand? Leon clearly hurt Usman way more. Battered his legs, landed huge body shots, and a massive knee. A huge knee and body kicks in round 2 scores more than one nice right hand and a takedown that did nothing to change the fight. Usman was tentative, getting potshotted constantly, and was completely unable to establish consistent offence or control. Usman didn't really do much of anything.
