The point about health boosts is so accurate. Sorry, I'm never taking 10% damage over 50% more health. They need a separate mechanic for health upgrades, or, like you said, just have every boost come with a health increase.
My first two wins were a curse build and a fire build. The fire build was out of control with the DPS the fire alone was doing not including the dmg from the staff's crits. In the middle of a spin to win double alterattack build and that is crazy with curse as well. The amount builds in this game is epic. The only critiques i have so far is that there are too many gifts with not enough slots, especially when you havent unlocked the slot upgrades yet. So you kind of have to go heavy in one direction if you want to get max DPS. The other issue is that some of the gifts i find to be completely useless, namely the ones that do dmg to multiple enemies. You dont face many enemies at once and when you do they are pretty weak, so i dont see the need to ever use those gifts. Other than that, this is one of the best games ive played all year.
I love your point on the boosts and HP gains. I almost think a system like dead cells would work well, where each boost gives you a diminishing percent increase to health. That way you're rewarded for taking boost doors beyond the boost alone. Because taking health as a boost isn't fun even if it is good for the run.
Idk if you like Lovecraftian horror but their this game source of madness which is just like this and deadcells you have two main attacks and then 2 secondary moves you can get shields, turrets, or power increase, or even a black hole just have to watch out that hurts everything. You also have 4 gear piece slots. It a lot of fun
Maybe not nerfed, the devs said in haelins vod where they played togethere and did 2 runs said they want broken stuff. Did u try the the fish knife + curse daggers? With cursed stun opportunity u get 100% stun uptime it is pretty busted just finished stormy with it.
This game isnt different enough run to run visually, from an outsiders perspective whos never played myself it doesnt seem different enough, builds seem similar only relying off of a pool of the same few items, areas seem similar only changing colors slightly, enemies seem the same, its all things that im sure will be improved with full release but for now even though ive only heard praise it seems like a 4-5/10 game
It’s because the combat system is really fluid and responsive. Enemy and boss encounters are really well made and fair. People are generally overlooking lack of variety because of early access.

Its a neat little game but why only 6 boost slots. Let's double that make shit even crazier
I just realized you might be able to fight all three of the last boss at once, and im gonna try that see if its easier next time.
If you pay close attention, the bosses become buffed when you summon another, not when they die. So you would fight smol, mid and buff axolotls.
A shield with a wand is much better because you have less chance of taking damage, at least that's more enjoyable for me :DDDD

curse stun is definitely going up on UA-cam soon™
Ive remapped the heal button to L just like in dead cells. I was hitting it too much where ti was. I put the crystalize where the heal was
GOGO all the way to BC4!!
Vee you forgot to put windblown in your title
That final boss is insane, i think red blue green is easiest
