This was the episode that made me a fan of Firestorm. Amazing how it just toppled Mr Psycho like nothing. Of course the German episode where Mr Psycho fell on his ass holding Junkyard Queen would be leaked years later but back then, this was something to behold.
It's now been twice where the Firestorm team had toppled the largest of the House Robots, here and ALL the way back in their debut in series 2 where their first machine, Groundhog topples Sir Killalot after the latter tries to lift them up
The best episode of Robot Wars The episode that I VIVIDLY remember The episode where my favourite robot FINALLY got the recognition it deserves FIRESTORM WILL BURN YOU
Crushtacean may not have won the Commonwealth Carnage, but it did succeed in restoring South African roboteering honour after the absolute atrocity that was Yeborobo.
I hope they gave Firestorm IV a special trophy for taking out both house robots And another trophy for throwing two opponents over the edge using a bottom hinged flipper
Firestorm took no prisoners, but glad they finally won a competition with a good decent lineup of International Robots in the episode (unlike the World Series from the Reboot), but its best highlight was it beating Psycho and the only one to do it. If they cant win a domestic title then take on a House Robot bigger and heavier than Killalot (but not as destructive, IMO Killalot still had that over Psycho).
AdrianYoungs81 yeah reckon if the draw was either of them it could’ve done it, but it did put up a good fight against Storm 2 and saying that Firestorm was the more threatening robot to face it.
It was nice to see them do Firestorm vs Panic Attack not in the finals, giving an unique matchup between Crushtacean and Corkscrew, then again vs Firestorm.
This was really Firestorm's time to shine. Truly a magnificently controlled performance right through. Two OOTA's in their first fight, BOTH house robots tipped over in their second (and one of them the monstrous Mr Psycho) - legend! If there was an award for style and audacity (and entertainment value) they would have won that hands down too.
@@joeandrews7329 Only 1 year? I guess, it's like Ford racing against Ferrari in Europe. They BANNED Ford because they were winning and they are the "outsiders". Likewise, the Brits don't want to get their butts kicked by American bots either.
