My tv. broke and I decided to forgo tv for a while to see if I missed it. I did not miss it because youtube etc. has educational programes that the B.B.C. dropped for cheap soap operas and poor copies of dramas that were too good to remake. The tv went to the tip and the licence lapsed. It is not the money as I pay more online. As I said to the license inspector, if I go to Macdonalds and do not return, they dont try to take me to court for not going again. They dont want to inspect my freezer to see if I have burgers stashed away. Maybe their poor mentality will end their public funding through their poor actions.
They can't make enough cash, their overheads are astronomic, eastenders set £80m, Lineker 1.5m, Wnkleman over£50,000; if this goes to council tax there'll be more poll-tax style riots.

agree.. at least with the system we have we can 'opt out'.. what needs to change is the nature of the threat-o-grams.. no other organisation can get away with the 'mixed' messages and deliberately worded, threats.. they need to be prosecuted under harrassment (etc) laws
The Licence fee is finished. I have never bought one in my life nor will I ever. Increasingly people will act unilaterally to end the licence fee as more and more people just stop paying.

I don't pay them anything so quite frankly I don't care what they do or say. If you are aware of the BBC TV laws you never have to pay them.
