Such an heartfelt testimony. Both of you are gifted men of God. As church musicians this is a common thing where church leaders feel like we are abandoning them when we move elsewhere. There is no genuine covering or send-off when God calls us to greater. The church needs to do better, honestly.

Church hurt is a real thing. It’s not just women who feel that thing and it’s always the ones who are most committed that feel it the worst. I too am speaking from experience.

It's tough when you realize that people want you to follow God's will only when its convenient. When the Will threatens to shake the nest, it is met by incivility. Understand that humans deal with hurt differently and the response is almost always selfish. This is a walk of faith, and we have to realize it won't always be comfortable to obey, but it is necessary. It always works out in the end. Most important is that you get to the point of total forgiveness so God can complete His work in and through you. Inspiring interview. May Yah continue to elevate and enlarge your territory. Every blessing! Shalom 🙏🏼

Praying that God covers musicians who are afraid to disappoint and make decisions outside of what’s expected due to how much respect you have for your spiritual leader. We have real hearts, real families, real situations that hurt when decisions like this are made. People don’t respond, believe the worse, don’t call you back. It’s like an isolation you weren’t expecting. 🙏🏽 Thank you John Mike and Warren for the transparency and hearts you have to serve.

Love this interview and love, Yank nation. It’s crazy to hear so many of us have the tough experience of leaving a ministry we loved and was committed to. As painful as the experience is the good thing is making it to the other side to encounter people that won’t mishandle you. People should be able to leave a church/ organization without being shunned or mishandled. I’ve learned to be selective with accepting invitations of where I fellowship or even just being a guest Musician I do not support people or ministries that miss handle people at any capacity. We have to do better.

Love ya'll. Pray God will 100% heal even what we don't know is still hurting us...
A tip for the video and for the future. Give the solution and hope, now it stopped kinda bad/negative. Even if it was a cut and a solo cam shot with you looking directly intp the camera and praying over those who have gone through church hurt or Warren doing that, it would have helped and healed so much in the community (especially looking at the comments and seeing that a lot of us relate to this).
My own story has similarities but also huge differences. My pastor died but asked forgiveness and cried with me + tried to have a restored, real bond and was gonna assist me with coming out as a music artist and ministry (to the point of becoming a pastor as well) but he died before the above could happen. The asking forgiveness and him crying was so healing tho... so I pray for everybody right now. May God give you what you need to stop hurting and finish your race, enduring till the end. The Comforter is with us, let the joy of the Lord be your strength and know that those above you in ministry as just servants, the voice of God is in the Bible and we must follow that and believe that above all that people do and say. You are beloved, you are gifted, you have receives a measure of grace and God sees your heart, labor and character + it will be rewarded and it's always worth it in the end (see what I did there, we need that good ending).

Where there you go…we didn’t have to because you did it well here…😎….we have more left on the conversation as it was over 2 hours…there’s a beautiful ending coming to this story that will be released soon! Just as your story is very inspiring and comforting….But we had a very honest…open and transparent conversation…just two men talking through their past and hurts, triumphs and finding the common ground in our stories…that’s all it is/was…but it is inspiring to find that others share our same hurts and pains…and now knowing that…I am planning some future things that will speak directly to the audience on these things…

This was an amazing interview I recently went through the same thing in March before I Retired from the church. Here’s my question For us Musicians. Why do leaders try to get mad at us for leaving, when God knows our time is up?
Even when we do the right thing by talking to the pastor or bishop? I don’t understand.
