Thank you for your doing a video on this particular model. I have been searching for a good English review. I plan on buying one for my Honda ST 1300 soon.
Cheers for the overview. Currently have one on order and still waiting on delivery. If it's anything like my Maxia3 (which I'm having to replace because it keeps opening by itself whilst I'm on the move), then you don't need to open the carrying handle to release the lid; just turn the key to 3 o'clock and push on the carrying handle whilst it's still flush with the case body. I'm hoping I can use the thin neoprene liner from my Maxia 3. I've already confirmed I can transfer the backrest from the Maxia 3 to the Maxia 4, no problem, so useful saving there at least. I think I'll still use a strap over the lid though...
You have to look at your base. It determines which one you should buy for a top case. I believe I have a video for that. Look for the one that mention the bracket. I believe the keyword is monochrome or monokey. It has been a long time so I cannot recall off the top of my head. I believe I talked about that in one of these videos. But if my base bracket is the same as yours, it should fit. But check first and review the details of the V56
Thanks very much also have mp3 500 been using givi maxia e55 till accident in December was damaged so choosing replacement thanks does light kit working yet on yours as i want to get same same
Thanks for the video, this really helps give a real-world view on this case. I must say, I'm sold! Did you go for any side-case/panniers? I'm interested in the V35 for longer adventures.
No I did not but I did think about it at first. Only thing is, I do not do long road trips, else I would have. The other main reason is that I cannot zip through traffic if I get them.
Hi Dimitry, great video, it helped me decide on purchasing this top case. I found a good deal at Motocard in Germany. Is there any duty or taxes on this product when ordering overseas?
I cannot be sure because the price was as stated when I purchased mine online from Italy. I did not see any mention of a duty tax. Nevertheless, I do not know about Germany and their tax laws.
Dimitry, thank you so much for posting this video. I'm wondering... (I'll go look) but do you have videos of this installed? Also, for mounting... did you have to buy a mount from some place? Thanks again for the vid!
Yes, the mount is separate because there are various options to pick from base on your motorcycle. I had my mount 2 years before I purchased it. And remember there are 2 types of locks for the mount. I cannot recall their names off the top of my head but do research the one you like and make sure the fit matches the topcase model else it will be incompatible.
Hey, thanks for the review. I read some complaints regarding the lock jamming up due to its location, collecting dirt and such. Have you had any issues?
+STranger No I have never had problem with the lock jamming. The question would be whether that person is riding a dirt bike or not because I keep my topcase clean. And I use a manual key. I do not have a remote opener. So there is no dirt going in to it. The only thing close to it jamming is if I over stuff it with items and it does not fully close. Then it can jam up that way when you try to open it again. All I do is make sure that everything fits in nicely and it does close and open up properly. But in all I blame myself when that happens which has only been 3 times so far. And it is usually due to me rushing and not paying attention to how I pack things in there.
If it's the same design as my Maxia 52 you only flip the handle up to remove the box from the bike, otherwise just turn the key and press the handle which in turn presses the button behind the handle to open the lid :)
Chris, I never got around to uploading that video. My personal experience is that you have to do a lot more work around to install it because the main connector does not properly align. After installing it, it kept coming out. If I had to do it all over again, I would have it done by professionals. My video shows the trick I had to do it get it to stay. I will upload it eventually but short of it is, Corking form sealer (clear) is the best way to go with duck tape. After it hardened, it stayed and never disconnected again. If you are surrounded by pot holes and dirt roads, it will always pop out. That's why it is necessary.
Its all great but it can be locked without a key. This feature is stupid beyond belief! Imagine yourself in the middle of the nowhere, taking something out of topbox, throwing keys in and got distracted, then close the lid and lock the damn thing. So stupid!
Great thank you now I know that the right one for me as the show you can get too 3xl size helmet in side
At least someone does an Overview of V56!!
Thanks!!
Thanks for the review, exactly what I needed to see.

No I actually did not. I thought about it for a minute and decided not to over do it myself. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Nice! But please, FTLOG, always pack helmets in a soft cover. They'll start tumbling around while riding and your visors will come out all scratched.
thank you. very useful review.
Super !
Thank you forvthe review.
glad to help.
I am glad you are all appreciative of the review. I felt it was necessary myself. Hence the reason for doing it.
Hi, did admore start making the light kit for this case?
+Chris Romero Yes they did. I just installed mine last week. Will be uploading the instructions video soon. Look out for it within the next few weeks.
+Dimitry Frederique thank you, Sir! Subbed!

Just recorded new video on topcase lighting setup from Admore Lighting. Will upload soon.
