Thanks for the video. I actually have the same set up and was wondering if the rack is strong enough to hold the top case and serve as back rest for the passenger.
they look stupid but when you can go shopping on your motorbike go somewhere on a nice hot summers day and not having to carry a helmet and big clunky jacket with you it makes it so much worth it and if you just going on a normal bike ride with some friends you can just take it off if you know you dont need it
That box is huge for sure, but it is workable! And you can remove it, and put on a smaller one if you are doing a short trip. The plate works with multiple boxes.
Oh yes it is big!! :D but very handy! It will be perfect for some camping trips I'm preparing. As you rightly said I can always remove it and fit a smaller one if I need or just ride with no topbox whatsoever. Take care!
Hey, thank you for the video. Can you keep the back rest installed when using this box? or maybe there are smaller boxes that you can have among with a back rest?
Thx for the Video! I think it does look better than some smaller ones on other bikes. Hate when its high up on the air and far from the bike... Stay safe Bro✌
i have the same moto with racks and pillion back rest . i just put a good moto bag and straped to rack easy to carry away with shoulder strap . that tha big box . plus if leave that box theives pup it open or breack it to steal it . and you loose your back rest to put that box in .
Yeah it’s massive indeed and I don’t like it! :( fingers cross we return to a covid free world soon! Sometimes just looking at it makes me feel I’m on a Goldwing ahahah
It would have been helpful to show the fitting kit that attaches the mounting plate to the rear rack. There's four "W" shaped brackets with bolts, square washers and nylock nuts. The process is pretty fiddly and not very intuitive so showing that step would have been helpful. I just put on mine and, at first, I was concerned that, because the nuts are accessible from underneath the rack, that someone with a wrench could simply undo them and steal the top box. However, I realized that, since the nuts are nylock nuts, unless you can hold the bolts from the top, the bolts will just turn and you can't remove the nuts. With the top box in place, you can't access the bolts so it is secure from theft.
There is one more possible space for your trousers, inside your helmet. I used to stuff my helmet to fit everything inside the top box on my old bike. 😁
Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. That's the stock seat that was reupholstered by a portuguese company called JN Seats. It was a great seat and very comfortable both for the rider and pillion. Take care!
Hi there! Forgot to reply earlier. So it is a bit difficult to measure as it is a bit curved but on the inside, on the bottom of the topbox ir measures about 48cm-36cm; in the middle, the maximum dimension is 55cm-40cm. I hope it helped!
@9:18 that thing looks like a trailer without the wheels. I'd be concerned over all that being attached with a few screws only on the front. Maybe it's mainly for helmets and gear, so you ride near empty, then store your stuff.
Ahah it's the GoPro very wide lense that gives it that look on that angle, but yeah, it's big! I never rode with it too full so all was good. For storage whilst I was at work that was awesome! But anyway, it was very sturdy and stable even though the space between the 4 screws wasn't too much. Take care!
Yeah. I'm not s huge fan of the cosmetics of it but its seems like its going to be very useful. Another awesome video! Good to see an unboxing video with someone using a practical way to open their box instead of a huge bowie knife. lol
Thanks my friend! Nothing wrong with a good old pair of scissors hehe One of those sissy bar bags would complement the style of the bike much, much better, but it would be an open invitation to anyone with bad intentions to steal the bag and its contents whilst I’m at work. Hopefully at some point next year I will be able to get rid of it hehe Take care!
hello and congrats on the new top box. Have you tried to ride with some weight in the case and if yes, have you noticed any changes with your riding especially in windy conditions on the motorway? How many kilos of load would you be comfortable to put into the case considering that the rear rack is in suspension behind the rear wheel? thank you
Hi there! Sorry for the late reply! I believe I only rode with it with maybe about 2.5kg inside, didn't feel any different to me, I guess that might be because the box is not that high on the bike and the bike itself is very low. Likewise on the motorway I never felt any difference. The box also have a somewhat slim profile and seems very aerodynamic so not a problem on windy conditions either. This might be totally different if we were speaking about a taller bike, then I would assume you would feel the difference especially if fully loaded. Take care!
Hi Norrie! I could but then it would not fit everything : / When I'm using my winter jacket (already started to use it and will continue to until April or May) it becomes very tricky to fit everything. But well, this is just a temporary solution during this covid times, I imagine after we go over this I will be able to get access to the area where I used to leave my stuff and change into my working uniform. When that time comes this will be removed, permanently! hehe Take care!
Nice one, finally somebody actually trying to fit stuff into the top box! Thanks for that! PS: awesome t-shirts \m/
Ahah it would be a shame having a top box that size and not try to fit the kitchen sink in there 😅
Great video, and it has convinced me to go with the 48L versus 56L for my classic sport bike. Thanks from Arizona, USA.
You welcome, Jim! I’m glad it helped!
Take care!
I was hoping to fit 2 full face helmets in but just a bit small for both. Love mine. Love the extra brake lights.
Thanks for the video. I actually have the same set up and was wondering if the rack is strong enough to hold the top case and serve as back rest for the passenger.
Hello Jose!
Yeah I have used it with s pillion and never had a problem, was always very stable with the pillion leaning against it.
Take care!

Hey, thank you for the video. Can you keep the back rest installed when using this box?
or maybe there are smaller boxes that you can have among with a back rest?
Probably not, you'd Gabe to move the top box really fast back. You can get a back pad to install on the front of the box though, so it works as both.
You can ish, but you will not be able to open the box.
Thx for the Video!
I think it does look better than some smaller ones on other bikes. Hate when its high up on the air and far from the bike...
Stay safe Bro✌
Yeah, you are right my friend! The fact it is wider makes it look a bit better than the smaller ones.
Take care!

It looks massive on the bike 🤔 not sure but as you say it’s practical
Yeah it’s massive indeed and I don’t like it! :( fingers cross we return to a covid free world soon! Sometimes just looking at it makes me feel I’m on a Goldwing ahahah

Good idea! I’ll try that!
Take care!
Not a good idea it can alter the foam lining on the helmet thus reducing its effectiveness in a crash,
Does that need the key for the whole thing to be removed from the motorcycle?
Yes, it needs the key ;)
Why did you have to take the backrest off before putting the trunk on? Did you choose to take it off or do you have to take it off?
Hi there!
With the backrest on it would be impossible to open the topbox fully.
Cheers!
What luggage rack do you have installed that you mounted the top case to?
Hi Derek! It's the one from the Givi Backrest ;)
take care!
@@MOTOSPELL Muito obrigado!
I have a vulcan s, what seat is that please,i like the fact the passenger seat sits higher
Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. That's the stock seat that was reupholstered by a portuguese company called JN Seats. It was a great seat and very comfortable both for the rider and pillion.

Thank you for making this video! 🌈
Boas. Como se chama a placa universal para colocar a top box?
Boas Miguel!
O nome da placa é Givi E251 Universal Monokey Adaptor Plate
Abraços!
So did the fitting plate come with the top box (ie. All came together in the box)?
No my friend, the mounting plate is an extra, I belive it was about £40
I Know dimension from GIVI 60x48x33cm but how looks internal dimensions especially internal depth. Is it 45cm or less?
Hi there!
Forgot to reply earlier.

Yeah I think the bike does it work with that box.
Same same in my HD
You can take it of without key?
No, you need the key for it.
Will it fit your trousers if you don't put your boots in?
Absolutely! And probably some other things too if needed!
Take care!
Trousers rolled up in the helmet….looks good on the bike.
Nice tip! Thanks!

amazing storage, but it seems way too big for many bikes.
that thing looks like it needs a trailer attached to move it around, its huge :D
Ahaha loved the comment!

Thank you for your constructive feedback. Best riding wishes 😉
mine doesnt close with gentle push
That's strange, I haven't used mine for over 1 year now, but it always closed easily with a gentle push.
Take care!
may be the lens but it looks too big for its support !
It's the lense. It fits perfectly there, never really had a problem with it being unstable or anything.
Can you no return it and get a smaller one
Hi Norrie!

That's a lot of junk in the trunk.... 😂😂😂
