When I heard that I was like "DAMN SHIT BECAME REAL" Until Osvald's theme started to play and Harvey screaming (in japanese) made the final boss an epic end.
I had to save the clip on my switch of Osvald full-boosting a One True Magic II into Harvey’s face. He said his normal quote at first, so I un-boosted, and then boosted again just so I could have that *HARVEY!* saved forever.
"You can use One True Magic" Osvald X4 boost using Alephan's knowledge: Impart your wisdom, Alephan! *a party member recharges Osvald's BP and buffs his magic attacks* *Osvald x4 boost* : HARVEY!!! *Uses One True Magic III* This... IS THE ANSWER!!
I'm more a fan of The Journey for Kingship Ends, but this one goes _HARD_ considering... (Spoilers ahead) Osvald's strong wish of revenge on Harvey BUT at the same time his wish to protect what really matters and no equation could ever replace: Elena.
I ruined every other version, cause Osvaldo was my first one, so the song never seems to match the others as well, even though I love Ochette's theme more.
Takehito Koyasu absolutely knocked it out of the park voicing Harvey. Hell, Harvey is a MASSIVE shoutout to Dio Brando, between his cruelty toward Osvald (similar to Dio's cruelty to Jonathan Joestar), his battle pose being a total Dio reference, and that absolutely over-the-top shout of Osvald's name. I can actually sum up Harvey in three words: KONO HARVEY DA!!!!! Probably my favorite of the final chapter bosses, even if Harvey can easily be cheesed by continually applying Reflect to the whole party (i.e. Partitio as an Arcanist).
Octopath 1 and 2 have great music in general, but I love how it's used to convey certain ideas. Both other 'story boss' themes in OP2, Critical Clash 1/2, are much more dangerous throughout, while Journey's End has this constant back and forth between more threatening strings and the much more triumphant brass and wind instruments - its almost as though the travellers are finally able to see the glimmer of light at the end of their journey and are feeling this swelling hope that they're going to succeed. It's so well done and just one of the reasons I love this soundtrack. 😁
I think about this game wayyy to often. It has changed my imagination which is plagued by anime fights, and made it even more epic than I thought possible. I get goosebumps in my own head now.
Everybody gangsta till the buff scholar yells “HARVEY”
Dude, that shit caught me off guard when it happened. Legit got startled.

I had that exact scenario play out, but harvey died on his own attack it was kind of perfect
Never in my life would I hear Dio scream "OOOOOOSUVARUDOOOOOO" in my Octopath game but yet here we are
Correction, its Dio screaming at Pucci - "OOOSSSUVARUUUDOOOO!"
Or Zato screaming to Sol Badguy
Wait fr? Didn't know Dio voiced Harvey

It was me! Harvey!
The fact that Osvald technically unlocks a love-coloured master spark really amuses me.
Da ze~
And without a mini-hakkero, too. Osvald might actually be the strongest human mage.

Osvald: The ultimate papa bear.
The Journey for Revenge Ends transition into For the Dawn has to be the best out of all. Really clean.

It's more satisfying when Harvey's own attack does Harvey in. Chef's kiss in irony.
One thing that I like in this pursuit.
