Sad that foreigners are banned from certain parts of Kyoto. Hopefully they can visit this market. All the food looked wonderful.
The restricted area is a path frequented by geishas, and in the past, maikos' kimonos have been torn and cigarette butts have been put in their collars, so they are no longer allowed to enter. I went to nishiki market when i was in japan but it just had to be the last day at kyoto and the market closed!! At least some stores are open so i got to eat
Ah, that was bad timing🥲There are quite a few stores open now! ! It closes early at 5pm, so it might be a good idea to go in the morning.

It's not similar to green tea, it's a little richer!
Matcha is more likely to have a bitter taste, but it also has a distinct umami and sweetness.
