Hundreds of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, a mysterious young woman, Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar), emerges as the only one who can stop London - now a giant, predator city on wheels - from devouring everything in its path. Feral, and fiercely driven by the memory of her mother, Hester joins forces with Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan), an outcast from London, along with Anna Fang (Jihae), a dangerous outlaw with a bounty on her head.
Mortal Engines is the startling, new epic adventure directed by Oscar®-winning visual-effects artist Christian Rivers (King Kong). Joining Rivers are The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies three-time Academy Award®-winning filmmakers Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who have penned the screenplay. Visual effects are created by a Weta Digital team led by Ken McGaugh, Kevin Smith, Luke Millar and Dennis Yoo. The Universal and MRC adaptation is from the award-winning book series by Philip Reeve, published in 2001 by Scholastic.
On board as producers are Zane Weiner (The Hobbit trilogy), Amanda Walker (The Hobbit trilogy) and Deborah Forte (Goosebumps), as well as Walsh and Jackson. Ken Kamins (The Hobbit trilogy) joins Boyens as executive producer. Universal will distribute the film worldwide. www.mortalengines.com
Just watched the movie
!!! It's A MASTERPIECE !!!
Its good until the end when for some reason London dosnt get destroyed. Dumb decision by the creators, that plot point was pretty important to the rest of the story
I agree. Saw it twice.
@@tomrl6674 Yeah, and it felt too rushed. Katherine and Bevis' whole plot was basically erased. No sneaking into the engineerum to find out about MEDUSA, no adding up the clues to learn that Valentine killed Hester's mother, no plan with the bomb, no tragic Bevis death, no sacrificing herself to save Hester, being killed by her own father accidentally, who stays on London after MEDUSA malfunctions to die from his despair when London explodes, NO PANZERSTADT-BAYREUTH!!! The movie was good on it's own, but it is a disgrace compared to the books, when thinking about how much great material was cut from the movie. It ruined it for me. Most of the first half was fine, until Airhaven is destroyed and Shrike dies there, without Peavy, or Tom heroically killing him, or anything. Everything after that wasn't true to the books, and ruined the story. Valentine never went on a mission to destroy Shan Guo's fleet, where he was supposed to kill Anna before returning. HE FRICKING KILLED CROME!! Valentine was meant to have a redemption arc, with Crome actually being the mastermind behind MEDUSA and everything. It was to the point that Hester tried to save him in the end. But no, in the movie he just killed him, for what, shock value? Cause I have to admit it was shocking, but it took away so much from the story. This should never have been made into a movie, but rather a TV show, which could have gone in-depth to all of these themes and events in the story. Anyone who thought this movie was bad, or even thought it was good, you NEED TO READ THE BOOKS!! They're some of the best Sci-Fi books ever written, imo. Just read them, you won't regret it.
the book is so much better
@@Jrdn357 you and i have the same thoughts... did u read my mind?
I love the attention to detail that they've put into London for this movie.
Wish I could go there in person. This 360 old tech will have to do!
British people. Still sophisticated long after the world was destroyed.
I hate bots
I saw the movie [Im from Estonia (Country in Europe)] AND IT WAS AWESOME, LOVE STUFF LIKE THIS.
The moral here is that Universal Pictures, please keep going like this! - Andris
Just saw the movie yesterday. Best one I've seen this year.
This would make an amazing VR ride at Busch Gardens.
>resources run out
>put cities on wheels that need resources to drive around instead of just being fucking still as a city should
I watched the movie and loved it!!! Top favorite movie now but just wished Esther and Tom kissed at the end it would of tied everything together :( but it was still amazing and I wish there was a second movie because I want more!!! I have sooo many questions on what’s next for them and the cites and everyone else....:)
Try reading the excellent book series this was based one, written by Philip Reeve! It's a whole quartet with a prequel trilogy and a short story collection. There's also the Illustrated World of Mortal Engines too!
Magnificent
It's awesome 😍😍😘😎😎😎
Nice Movie👌❤
This is amazing
That was awesome
Oh, my God, YESSS 😍😍👏
To bad this movie flopped. There's just too much world for this film to be a one-off.
It was good... but not that great, definitely not by the book. To be fair, very little movies based on books can reach that.
after watching this, its got a feeling of BIOSHOCK game
eduard adhi no, Bioshock is: a utopia, underwater, Art deco, pop culture of 1930s-1940s and early 1950s, tecnological avanced. City. So dont.
Awesome and unique Mate - I can tell you that 👍
Bumblebee must listen and obey to what Sam says.
nice 😎
Whoa 😮
Buen video
Shrike The Narrator
Cool 😎
Universal Pictures, you guys should make a new theatrical Ratchet And Clank animated movie for it's 20th Anniversary in 2022 for both all of your long-time Universal Studios fans out there and all of the long-time-time Ratchet And Clank fans out there and make sure it's THE best theatrical Ratchet And Clank animated movie Universal Studios themselves has ever made to date in the history of the company and absolutely NOT a repeat of the theatrical Ratchet And Clank 2016 movie. Even the marketing for it will honestly prove to everyone in the world that this new theatrical Ratchet And Clank animated movie will be, with question at all, a BIG improvement over Ratchet And Clank 2016 itself in more way than one and it WILL live up to the hype, no matter what!
Shame this is the only 360-degree video.
Good job fucking up the movie by not destroying London at the end. Was great until that, the ending was unsatisfying bullshit
RAPPIDDDOOO
Monty Python did this in the 1983 classic the meaning of life
"We have to stop London before it destroys us." ?
The Economist cover depicts the British bulldog in Canada and the four horsemen of the Apocalypse trampling the British Isles.
What are "they" trying to tell us?
Tea and crumpets with the queen.
glasses
Is it just me or does Tom look exactly like Justin Trudeau
It’s not the best video ever I don’t know what is
Half-Life 2 ???
