Depeche Mode is really the only band that would justify buying these kind of expensive sets. Their sound is incredibly unique and authentic, and b-sides are great.

Beautiful! Unfortunatly Ultra didnt have the best remixes in my opinion, but it sure is a nice package.

Agreed. A few I like but some dirge on there that bears no relation to the originals. I didn't like the Underworld mixes of Barrel of a gun which weren't the worst. I think they said they didn't like the original song much!

@@martinfarnworth6659 I would have love somekind of françois kevorkian extended remix of Barrel Of A Gun.

@@lachainemanquante that sounds brilliant. I heard his remix of Apollo 9 by Adam ant. I like what he did to a cheesy song. I know a bit of his work mixing of DM and PSB. The 90s got too much though with remixes I think looking back

Disappointing that Only When I Lose
Myself wasn't part of this 12 inch box set

I´ve been a Depeche Mode fan since 1983 but I´m no fan of these 12" boxes. This box is the second box in a row that is purple for some bizarre reason? I dont recall Ultra using purple colours in the art work to any great extend. And the hand on the cover of Useless was not chopped off like this one. Looks awful! The early album boxes omitted certain singles and only had a few records in them leaving out different versions released on other formats. The latest bunch of boxes comes with everything that was released. Endeless boring re-mixes of the same song. The early alternative versions were done by the band, producer or someone "inhouse" not odd guest remixers. Dont get me wrong, many of the mixes are great, but do they belong in a Depeche Mode box set series, where there was NO room at all for actual Depeche singles like It´s called a heart, Shake the Disease or Only when I lose myself? It´s a shame really as the boxes and records are superb in quality. A missed opportunity I reckon. And I haven´t even said a word about the insane pricing. I guess the fans are good enough when it comes to milking them for money eh. But how about making it a bit interesting also. Most of the Depeche singles I have collected over the years are far more interesting than most of what you get in these boxes. SONY needs to get the balance right !!

I'd be into these if they had also included copies of the albums themselves on vinyl. But the prices for just the singles alone are far too high, ESPECIALLY for someone like me who's more or less a casual fan. Big shame :/

Not worth it if you own originals, or even the album, remix wise, its the worst collection they ever had done (the actual depeche album Ultra is fantastic, remixes are not). Possibly a buy for the artwork on the wall, currently $90 (about 75 quid) on Amazon (2022 summer)
