MORE Common Fake Disney Pins

  • This video is a follow up to my original video on some of the most commonly faked Disney pins! These are the pins that are extremely heavily counterfeited and show up in the fake bulk pin lots on eBay, Amazon, and Etsy. There's some pins that have been faked for an entire decade, and there's other pins that have only been faked within the last two years. The counterfeit pin lots are such a problem because the pins are such low, cheap quality, and it's just the same fake pins over and over. I'm sure you'll be able to recognize quite a few pins in this video, the Hong Kong Disneyland Ferris Wheel Hidden Mickeys, the Shanghai Disneyland Grand Opening LE 300 pins, and good number of Walt Disney World Hidden Mickeys from 2010. Hopefully this video is educational for you about even more common fake Disney pins. The way to keep counterfeit pins out of circulation is to not buy them in the first place--which requires education!

    *If you’ve gone pin trading in the Parks, I’m sure you’ll recognize many of these pins!* They all come from the bulk counterfeit pin lots sold online, which contain 100% fake pins. Say no to cheap, poor-quality, repetitive fake pins!

    Though they maybe fake, my daughter loves her Puffle pins and we had so much fun collecting them to it doesn’t matter to me if they are real. She won’t be trading them anytime soon so I don’t worry about them ending up in the parks. Also the pins we used to trade were the less expensive real trader sets so I don’t feel like I got too ripped off.

    Disney parks needs to stop accepting these as trades and people will stop buying them and then the counterfeit biz will stop being so popular. My little kids were trading their real pins for counterfeits at the park so i had to intervein... so lame, people knowingly and unknowingly suck the fun out of the trading game

    I’m super new to pin trading but it’s sad that this happens :( I was supposed to go to Disneyland on June 26th and I was super excited to trade and buy pins for the first time but I didn’t know it was so common to encounter fakes. Are you allowed to trade box lunch pins?

      I know exactly how you feel, I felt the same when I started pin trading. But as to your question, yes you can trade box lunch pins. You are allowed to trade any pin with ©disney on the back of it. Also all authentic hidden Mickey pins are made with hard enamel so if you see soft enamel, it is fake. Unless it is a box lunch or loungefly pin, which you don't see a lot since they are nicer pins than what you will normally find.

    Disney needs to ban these fake pins and train their employee's to look out for them and refuse them. Its not fun trading for fake pins with authentic ones. If employee's can refuse a trade because they already have the pin on the board/lanyard, they can definitely refuse to trade for a fake one. The reason why fake pins are made are because pins are so expensive, and they wouldn't be a problem if disney made affordable pins. Of course they're never going to do that, so they should just refuse fake ones. If you're ok with fake pins thats fine, but its not fair to trade them in the parks. If you're someone like me who doesn't live near a Disney park then its so frusturating when you take a vacation to the park and there's the same fake pins on every board and lanyard. And you can't go trade at pin events because 1. Thats more money for a trip and 2. You don't have all the rare Wdi or limited edition pins to trade with others who get to go to every pin release because they live near the park. Disney please do something about the fakes.

    Hi Emily. How can you tell that the booster sets on backing cards are faked? Is there anything to watch out for? I have seen backer cards with mispellings on which seemed like a bit of a giveaway! But the cats ones, for example, look pretty good here.

    • @MagicallyEmily
      @MagicallyEmily  4 роки тому

      Sometimes the packaging will be missing an actual sticker price tag. Sometimes the printing on it will be a bit more grainy. Oftentimes it's really the pins themselves that are the giveaway for the whole set being fake: missing printed FAC numbers, wonky backs, off colors, etc.
