You will understand how Vedic Indra, Agni, Varuna, Soma, Rta, etc were degraded overtime till the puranic period, and Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti, etc replaced as Supreme Deities. It is very hard to accept this but this is the truth about Vedic Indra, Agni etc.

You can see the sects developed in tue name of Vishnu, shiva, shakti, etc, these puranas are the reason for them. The Vedas do not promote such sectarian theism, based on prominence of one deity.

No they are same. Its a vaishnava conspiracy. Narayan was a minor [parswa devata] God in Vedas. When Vaishnavism progressed they had to plant stories to bring Indra down else how could they promote vaishnavism. due to destruction of sanatan texts by mughal invaders, there are certain areas of vedas which are difficult to understand or interpret. However, thanks to the almighty they could not destroy our believes. We will discover it again with clarity.
Certain things would always be unknown as our religious texts got burned, but whatever possiblity nowadays we have about learning, it is possible because of those people who read and understood vedas in the ancient times. Despite all that destruction, there were honourable people who had the knowledge of vedas as they studied before, if not 100%, at least we can still have 40-50% knowledge. Our scholars passed on the information from generation to generation. And that is how, thankfully we can still find certain channels that teach all that retained knowledge about Vedas. Your statement would have made sense if vedas were incomplete but they are not. They were not written that's why they are preserved. Vedas have a great oral tradition that preserved them.

One reason for indra not being worshipped anymore could also be that as humans progressed, the godly awe around nature started to disappear because they started to know how nature worked and was no longer a mystery. Hence, why other ancient religions like Greek, Egyptian and Japanese faded away and Abrahamic religions took their place.

He was not satisfied after written all the puaranas for Different classes of people which was Satvik, Tamsiks, and Rajsiks, He finally wrote the Divine Puranas (Vasudev Tattva) named Srimad Bhagavatam where it is written that Krsnastu Bhagavan Swayam and not any incarnation. Sirf upar se padhne se nhi hota kuch. Shivji himself said that Puranas should be taken as the words of Krishna(GOD)

Puranas are associated with Tantra. Puranas are codified stories where every shloka has a beej mantra. Most people don't know this. Hence, they enjoy the story and don't bother about the hidden gems. Only those who query deep, they find the right Guru who trains them in Tantra. Puranas are written in this way so that ordinary people don't find out the real power. In my own personal opinion, the base of Puranas is somewhat factual but many layers of intricate storytelling has been added on top to make it interesting. That is an invitation, as well as a barrier. Works as a kindergarten and also as an entrance exam for Tantra. In Vedas, Indra is actually "Electricity" / "Electromagnetic force" / "subatomic charges" / "quarks" these kind of things. That's why Indra is always clubbed like a twin with AGNI. Agni is fire, and whenever, there is electromagnetic or these kind of forces, there is fire. And that's how both Indra & Agni are intertwined into SUN (SURYA). Nuclear forces, fire, light = SUN.

'Indra' represents 'group consciousness'. In earlier Yugas 'group consciousness' was of sattvik attributes. In kaliyua its innate 'tendencies' are -ve. Thats the reason for Indra' being described differently in Vedas and 'Purana'
All puranas concludes their related God as most powerful important god among others. Actually when the Purans Were written, there was competition among writers to popularise their God as most powerful and creator of universe. This created rift between various cults within Hinduism. But Shankaracharya wiped away the differences and brought unity in Hinduism. So let’s focus on our trust and Shraddha in God rather than stories.

Devraj Inder was a very respected character in Ramayan and Mahabharat . Even ideal person lord rama was compared with devraj inder many times in Ramayan . Alexender and Geeks also respect Zeus/Inder and Hercules /Surkulesh Vishnu/Krishna . Puranas were witten by daityarishivanshi caste and so they distort lord inder image as he was of other caste . Vedas inder is not historical, vedas inder is name of Omnipresent God .
No Puranas are not written by Daitya Rishi Vanshi, I've read Vishnu Puran, Shiv Puran and Bhavishya Puran.. they are ocean of knowledge and history but yes during year 200 BC many fake stories were added in these Purans by every sect to defame other sect's Gods. Stop blaming writers of Purans (who were definitely good Rishis having such positive and detailed knowledge), blame those people who added these fake stories in between the knowledge parts of Puranas. Agree Indra dev is defamed but who defamed are not the writers of Purans, Indra dev is also defamed in Ramayan and Mahabharat by the same people who added these fake stories in Purans so you'll blame Vedvyas and Valmiki too and consider whole Mahabharat/Ramayan as fake? Then why consider whole Puran and their writers wrong for what people added later to it? Don't follow Arya Samaj theory, Dayanand was a British agent with aim to wash off our history which resides in Puranas too

If you see Greek mythology, there are some vague similarities in powers and characteristics of Indra and Zeus. May be Greek mythology and hindu civilization had a common link at some point, however these similarities are more from post Vedic era. Also our description of Indra is more technical, and verbose.

When we are mature enough, we can understand deeper meaning. Puranas are written in different time zones, so the primary god may change but they donot go against vedas. You will understand how Vedic Indra, Agni, Varuna, Soma, Rta, etc were degraded overtime till the puranic period, and Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti, etc replaced as Supreme Deities. It is very hard to accept this but this is the truth about Vedic Indra, Agni etc.

You can see the sects developed in tue name of Vishnu, shiva, shakti, etc, these puranas are the reason for them. The Vedas do not promote such sectarian theism, based on prominence of one deity.

जो कुछ भी आजकल TV Serials में दिखाया जा रहा है वह किसी गन्दगी से कम नहीं है । वेदों के अनुसार एक ही परमेश्वर असंख्य स्वरूपों में स्वयं को विस्तृत करते हैं । ईश्वर ने अपने ही एक चित् अंश से इन्द्र-चंद्र-वरुण-सूर्य आदि को प्रकट किया । स्वयं ईश्वर ही न्यूनतम क्षमता के साथ इन्द्र-चंद्र-वरुण-सूर्य आदि के रूप में प्रकट होते हैं । बाद में इन्हीं सब की छाया से जीव रूपी इंद्रा-चंद्र-वरुण-सूर्य आदि प्रकट होते हैं और सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड को परिचालित करते हैं । जो मूल इंद्रा-चंद्र-वरुण-सूर्य आदि हैं ये आत्मस्वरूप से युक्त होते हैं माया स्वरूप में नहीं । और जहाँ तक ईश्वर को शक्ति कहने की बात है, ईश्वर कोई शक्ति नहीं होते बल्कि शक्तिमान होते हैं । वैदिक सास्त्रों का अनुशरण करेंगे तो पाएंगे की ईश्वर "शक्ति" न हो कर "शक्तिमान" होते हैं । "शक्ति" मातृस्वरूप होती हैं और "शक्तिमान" पितृसत्ता का नाम है ।
अतः वेदों में जिस *इन्द्र* को ईश्वर बताया गया है वह *"आत्मस्वरूप"* है परन्तु पुराणों में जिस इन्द्र की व्याख्या है वह माया-स्वरूप है । प्राकॄत इन्द्र एक जीव होता है जो स्वर्ग का राजा या मुखिया होता है, जो एक पद को संभालता है । हँ इन्द्र नाम का एक पद (designation) भी है । ईश्वरीय गुणों से युक्त इन्द्र जिसे वेदों ने ईश्वर कहा उन्होंने ही सर्व प्रथम उस पद को संभाला था । जैसे आजकल शंकराचार्य एक पद है, ठीक वैसे ही इन्द्र भी एक पद है । जो ईश्वर इंद्रा हैं वे सच्चिदानंदघन स्वरूप हैं जीव-स्वरूप नहीं । वेद के इन्द्र पुराणों के *इन्द्र* के आत्मा भी हैं और बीज भी । वेदों में वर्णित ईश्वर स्वरूप वाले इन्द्र आदि-इन्द्र हैं अर्थात समस्त ब्रह्माण्ड जे इन्द्रों के मूल बीज आत्मस्वरूप तत्त्व हैं ।

No they are same. Its a vaishnava conspiracy. Narayan was a minor [parswa devata] God in Vedas. When Vaishnavism progressed they had to plant stories to bring Indra down else how could they promote vaishnavism. They hijacked Krishna and Rama and others into vaishnava fold and made them avatara of Vishnu. So that they could make Vishnu as almighty god like in christianity or islam. Proof is in gita govinda , Jayadev did this.

Certain things would always be unknown as our religious texts got burned, but whatever possiblity nowadays we have about learning, it is possible because of those people who read and understood vedas in the ancient times. Despite all that destruction, there were honourable people who had the knowledge of vedas as they studied before, if not 100%, at least we can still have 40-50% knowledge. Our scholars passed on the information from generation to generation. And that is how, thankfully we can still find certain channels that teach all that retained knowledge about Vedas. भावार्थ -
जैसे अग्न्यादि पदार्थों के इन्द्र आदि नाम हैं वैसे एक परमात्मा के अग्नि आदि सहस्रों नाम वर्त्तमान हैं। जितने परमेश्वर के गुण, कर्म, स्वभाव हैं उतने ही इस परमात्मा के नाम हैं, यह जानना चाहिये ॥ ४६ ॥
Ab Vedo se yeh siddh karunga ki ishwar ek nirakar sarvagya sachidanand aur sarvayapak hai aur unhone poore multiverse ko dhaaran kiya hai -
Yajurveda 32/3 - न तस्य प्रतिमाऽअस्ति यस्य नाम महद्यशः।हिरण्यगर्भऽइत्येष मा मा हिꣳसीदित्येषा यस्मान्न जातऽइत्येषः॥३॥
भावार्थ -
हे मनुष्यो! जो कभी देहधारी नहीं होता, जिसका कुछ भी परिमाण सीमा का कारण नहीं है, जिसकी आज्ञा का पालन ही नामस्मरण है, जो उपासना किया हुआ अपने उपासकों पर अनुग्रह करता है, वेदों के अनेक स्थलों में जिसका महत्त्व कहा गया है, जो नहीं मरता, न विकृत होता, न नष्ट होता उसी की उपासना निरन्तर करो। जो इससे भिन्न की उपासना करोगे तो इस महान् पाप से युक्त हुए आप लोग दुःख-क्लेशों से नष्ट होओगे॥३॥
Yajurveda 40/8 - स पर्यगाच्छुक्रमकायमव्रणमस्नाविरँ शुद्धमपापविद्धम् । कविर्मनीषी परिभूः स्वयम्भूर्याथातथ्यतोर्थान्व्यदधाच्छाश्वतीभ्यः समाभ्यः ॥
भावार्थ -
हे मनुष्यो! जो अनन्त शक्तियुक्त, अजन्मा, निरन्तर, सदा मुक्त, न्यायकारी, निर्मल, सर्वज्ञ, सबका साक्षी, नियन्ता, अनादिस्वरूप ब्रह्म कल्प के आरम्भ में जीवों को अपने कहे वेदों से शब्द, अर्थ और उनके सम्बन्ध को जनानेवाली विद्या का उपदेश न करे तो कोई विद्वान् न होवे और न धर्म, अर्थ, काम और मोक्ष के फलों के भोगने को समर्थ हो, इसलिये इसी ब्रह्म की सदैव उपासना करो॥८॥
Atharvaveda 13/4/16 - न द्वितीयो न तृतीयश्चतुर्थो नाप्युच्यते ॥
भावार्थ -
परमेश्वर एक है, उससे भिन्न कोई भी दूसरा, तीसरा आदि ईश्वर नहीं है, सब लोग उसी की उपासना करें ।।
Rigveda 10/190/3 - सूर्याचन्द्रमसौ धाता यथापूर्वमकल्पयत् । दिवं च पृथिवीं चान्तरिक्षमथो स्व: ॥
भावार्थ -
संसार को धारण करनेवाले विधाता परमात्मा ने सूर्य चन्द्रमा द्युलोक पृथिवीलोक अन्तरिक्षलोक और अन्य लोक-लोकान्तरों को पूर्व सृष्टि में जैसे रचा था, वैसे ही इस सृष्टि में रचा है, आगे भी रचता रहेगा ॥३॥

I have a different opinion: in vedas indra is very important because in our universe the possibility of life us totally depends on indriyans that's why it is so much important but in puranas their goal is to teach us about how our indriyans can create chaos if not controlled we have to win it to attain enlightenment. What indiris can do is deflection of indra in puranas. Just my opinion comes in my mind.

One reason for indra not being worshipped anymore could also be that as humans progressed, the godly awe around nature started to disappear because they started to know how nature worked and was no longer a mystery. Hence, why other ancient religions like Greek, Egyptian and Japanese faded away and Abrahamic religions took their place.

He was not satisfied after written all the puaranas for Different classes of people which was Satvik, Tamsiks, and Rajsiks, He finally wrote the Divine Puranas (Vasudev Tattva) named Srimad Bhagavatam where it is written that Krsnastu Bhagavan Swayam and not any incarnation. Sirf upar se padhne se nhi hota kuch. Shivji himself said that Puranas should be taken as the words of Krishna(GOD)

Puranas are associated with Tantra. Puranas are codified stories where every shloka has a beej mantra. Most people don't know this. Hence, they enjoy the story and don't bother about the hidden gems. Only those who query deep, they find the right Guru who trains them in Tantra.
Puranas are written in this way so that ordinary people don't find out the real power.
In my own personal opinion, the base of Puranas is somewhat factual but many layers of intricate storytelling has been added on top to make it interesting.
That is an invitation, as well as a barrier. Works as a kindergarten and also as an entrance exam for Tantra.
In Vedas, Indra is actually "Electricity" / "Electromagnetic force" / "subatomic charges" / "quarks" these kind of things. That's why Indra is always clubbed like a twin with AGNI.
Agni is fire, and whenever, there is electromagnetic or these kind of forces, there is fire.
And that's how both Indra & Agni are intertwined into SUN (SURYA). Nuclear forces, fire, light = SUN.

Devraj Inder was a very respected character in Ramayan and Mahabharat .
Even ideal person lord rama was compared with devraj inder many times in Ramayan .
Alexender and Geeks also respect Zeus/Inder and Hercules /Surkulesh Vishnu/Krishna .
Puranas were witten by daityarishivanshi caste and so they distort lord inder image as he was of other caste .
Vedas inder is not historical, vedas inder is name of Omnipresent God .

No Puranas are not written by Daitya Rishi Vanshi, I've read Vishnu Puran, Shiv Puran and Bhavishya Puran.. they are ocean of knowledge and history but yes during year 200 BC many fake stories were added in these Purans by every sect to defame other sect's Gods. Stop blaming writers of Purans (who were definitely good Rishis having such positive and detailed knowledge), blame those people who added these fake stories in between the knowledge parts of Puranas. Agree Indra dev is defamed but who defamed are not the writers of Purans, Indra dev is also defamed in Ramayan and Mahabharat by the same people who added these fake stories in Purans so you'll blame Vedvyas and Valmiki too and consider whole Mahabharat/Ramayan as fake? Then why consider whole Puran and their writers wrong for what people added later to it? Don't follow Arya Samaj theory, Dayanand was a British agent with aim to wash off our history which resides in Puranas too

If you see Greek mythology, there are some vague similarities in powers and characteristics of Indra and Zeus. May be Greek mythology and hindu civilization had a common link at some point, however these similarities are more from post Vedic era. Also our description of Indra is more technical, and verbose.
Actually the Greeks were descendents of the Vedic People.
They were exiled after their defeat in the battle of 10 kings during the Vedic age.
The 10 Kings and their Clans who lost against the Bharata Clan had to leave in different directions. So you find so much cultural similarity in different regions. Atleast they were until the advent of Abrahmic Religions which destroyed everything beautiful

In rudri path ... Lord Shiva or rudra ( om namah shivay also comes from this prayer) is shown to be worshipped by all other devtas and Asuras ....
In terms of appreciating gods , every devta is almost defined as parabrahaman when you use their prayer..
It is the journey of collective human consciousness.
Prakriti(living close to forest)/Goal is only Survival->raising chetana-> control of indriyaas(Indra)->Brahman(collective identity)->rise of maaya(arishadvarga and rag dwesh) due to civilization and loss of mental purity->Need for saty(shiv)->practical application of saty is Dharma((Vishnu and avatars).
As people lost mental purity, intellectual ability, Rishis had to simplify complicated spiritual and cosmic philosophy into puranas. Enjoy them as stories. When we are mature enough, we can understand deeper meaning. Puranas are written in different time zones, so the primary god may change but they donot go against vedas. Vedas has purest and highest spiritual knowledge like the drop of rain before falling on the ground.
