I don’t have ae yet but i’ve been trying to find a good turbulence that actually looks like ae but on vs and it’s the hardest thing ever, bc the vs turbulence sucks.

hello i don’t know how helpful it is for me to describe it but if you go to 00:35, you can see me adding keyframes. all you do is press the timer button to make it turn blue beside the little graph icon on the setting to activate keyframing. if you move to make another keyframe, enter the amount for the setting and it’ll automatically add another keyframe for you once it’s activated :)

highlight the last keyframes of "amount" and "size, drag until the amount keyframe is not at the end.

how do u get to the next frame? do u just move to wherever you want the turb to end or go to the next second? sorry im a beginner to ae so idk if my comment made sense lol
you highlight the two frames and drag it till the end of the picture (frame)
so when i first applied the effect/keyframes like this on an edit everything worked perfectly but since then everytime i add turbulent displace and set the keyframes as in the video the effect just kinda disappears as soon as i change amount to 0 and i dont know why the hell this is happening could u pls help :(
you have to make sure you add your keyframes or else they won’t save the values !!

try pre-rendering clips so not too many effects are being rendered and overworking your computer :)
What font did you use at the beginning
arial with kerning/spacing of 50

none at all :)
do you know what the composition setting were for this video?
for the edit, it’s 1080 x 1080
for the actual youtube video, it’s 1920 x 1080
the footage was recorded as 30fps so i kept the composition settings at 30fps. everything else is default for what after effects usually has it at.

click the actual effect instead of highlighting to copy :)

sorry for the late reply ! your clip is most likely longer than usual, but it’s natural for it to be slow especially since you later transitions over it !! what you can try doing is having the end size not be as far away.

turbulent displace, you should be able to find it by search “text jitter” on youtube !!
i dont have the keyframe dots there
you probably forgot to activate the keyframes! make sure you click the timer icon :)

i’m late but hello, i’m here to help!! some of the mistakes i’ve been seeing are people not highlighting BOTH END keyframes and dragging them to the end TOGETHER. another is not making sure your keyframes save as the values you make them.
for some reason mine looks nothing like that no matter the tb tut it doesn't do it like that
could you describe how it looks when you do it? depending on your clip length and transitions the turbulent wouldn’t look as good as most !!

reminder that the beginning usually isn’t smooth but flows out smooth because you have to layer it with a transition
my turb lije jiggles/moves? the photo doenst stay still for me
you might want to precomp your photo before doing turbulent.

my only advice is (since i don’t know what your project file currently looks like) make sure you don’t have any keyframes that are making it move, and when you precomp it’s on the second option, *not* leave attributes here.
