I agree with fan drives have had to replace them on every picker I have had on my 2018 cp690 they went to non serviceable and had to replace the driven this year with 1,800 engine hrs
I put bandits on 1 row and meh . It puts the fertilizer alittle deeper than dribbling on top. Maybe get .5” on your worked sand. I gave up on 2x2x2 and went aulari coulters 1 side of row , 4” deep in NT .
Very interesting comment about 30” rows holding more heat at night…do you think 40” rows would be ideal for your region? I know changing equipment and tractor spacing prolly isn’t worth it but curious your opinion on the wide rows? Thanks!
Everyone around here is on 40” or 38”. There is a few of us on 30” as well but it really doesn’t matter but yes it can bite you in the tail about respiration at night.
@@griggsfarmsllc interesting…I know there’s guys up north planting corn on 60”s and will inter seed a cover crop mix for grazing and hoping the legumes in the blend provide N for the crop. They keep the pop the same as 30” corn and can make relatively close to 30” yields
@ I’ve seen on Southern Farming on FB that someone came out with a kit to convert it. That would be the first thing I did if I had a 2012 or later. To heck with replacing that variable speed every year or risk having your motor go down.
nice to see you back on you tube bud
Erin has been working day and nights at the gin. They are finally getting everything worked out so she’s had time to edit.
Not sure if you have it but the spring set feed belt kit is well worth it. Use to have to adjust it every other day. Now never touch the feeder belt.
happy for you and family / crew that the cotton is showing up stay safe yall
Thanks for being patient with us.
I Went with dribble tubes only for simplicity no bearing, blades, blah blah to give trouble. That’s how my pros/cons weighed out.

Stupid design but we just replace them and go on.
In furrow right on top of the seed
Got 3-4 seasons on 360 bandits. Work good. Just not for no-till and they like to jam rocks between closing wheels at times

What do you plan on planting next year besides wheat? These grain prices are so low its hard to decide on what to plant to make any money.
Corn and cotton.
Guess soybeans and rice here.

I’ve seen 20” corn burn up for the same reason over 30” and 38”. I know I’m losing some yield at 38” over 30”, but wide grows to have some benefits

I mean they will run double the pop as 30” lol sorry
We run the same pop on 30 as the do 38
like running a 7720 huh. A longer throat makes it a better machine still cutting with it today
Have you looked into turning that variable fan into a fixed fan?
I have not.

I use bandit 360 and wave to apply mine.

They say case is coming out with a baie pickers
Yeah they can keep it.
@TheCropCritic It's hard to beat deere
Why leave the rock in the field?
Because me picking up one rock isn’t going to make a difference. They are everywhere on the ground. Welcome to Tn.
That’s unfortunate
