@@UK-Property-Tax-Accountants I can second what @ChrisTowner-wc8zj is saying here as I have many years of experience in this matter.
It is true that especially when the council use your property for transit accommodation, a lot of the occupants in my experience have turned the place into, a bit of a pigsty, and no that is not an exageration. There are some tenants who are better at appreciating the accommodation they have been given, but often the property is not taken good care of.

Both local and national government have burdened private landlords with legislation that social housing doesn't have to abide by. Don't do business with these councils.

I wonder if this is all part of the government’s master plan, use private landlords investment without laying out. It’s cheaper that buying or building, or putting people in hotels ect.

The government and councils bleed the landlords of the UK 🇬🇧 dry! every which way they can!!
Then ask can we use your B2L 😂😂
It’s my pleasure to say “NO”

always best rent private . not to councils or housing associations they will trash the property l have seen so many . they don:t care who they put in always get them to sign with a solicitor that they should pay for any damages after they leave . as they don"t this is why they give you up front many be but thats not enough to cover the cost of repaying it.

This looks like a great idea for a property landlord who wants to rent out their property and leave the country either forever or for a considerable time as it is so passive and safe!

@@slyteen2197 If rented to a housing association or the local authority, the contract should require those bodies to pick up the pieces.

@johnporcella2375 that is what i think too but always worth checking the contract 👍

This sounds very interesting! I wonder how the yields compare with using a property as a BTL in the private sector?

Who pays on maintenance if anything goes wrong or if tenants trash the property?

I'm guessing the rent is much lower? as to going through an estate agent?

The gross rent may be less but what about the net rent that you receive on the monthly basis for three years?
