Another quick and great overview! Thanks JP!
Glad you liked it!
I see they changed the neon green to red. A lot of people hated the neon but I loved it. I like the red too. Looks sharp. I own two E6X, the MBR 903C and the JWR 892S. Love them both
New guide train is probably the biggest change Ron
I wish they did split grips on more rods. I got my first one, a 7'1" 853SJWR MH casting rod a couple weeks ago and it is a great rod. I will get a bunch more.
I was just about to replace all my rods with E6x, I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t do splits grip on the casting but it’s okay!
Splits are about look not function from my experience and often times hurts rod balance.... full cork is nice on the hands!
I agree I like split grip handles also, I think they are more comfortable and I like them better while casting
Hope there’s a rod for BFS in that line up. 🤞
No BFS for casting... lightest rod is an 820S DSR which doesn't help but would make a nice casting BFS rod!
I'm looking to try out this line of rod but in the inshore series
I'm so excited
Hey JP. Great to see a new rod. I can’t get an answer if these will have inshore variants as well to replace the e6x inshore rods? - The pro greens and green waters are over a decade old now and just don’t hold up to modern technology for their price, nrx is way out of reach for most of us price wise, and the imx pro blue leaves us light inshore and flats guys out of the equation completely. The e6x inshore was a good all around inshore rod series, especially the 7,6” models, but they really needed tangle free guides, etc. Diehard loomis fan, but man do us technical light inshore and flats guys feel like we’re being totally ignored these days from shimano and loomis. Thanks.
I would imagine that all E6X line ups will be replaced by GCX but I have no definitive answer on timeline unfortunately. If you haven't tried Zodias for the inshore stuff you are missing out!
@@JPDeRoseOutdoors thanks for the reply JP. Well, there’s a million of us guys without much of a voice anxiously awaiting the Loomis inshore/flats rods to be updated for almost a decade now. Hopefully this feedback can be sent up the ladder. I appreciate the zodias recommendation but for the $200 and up price point, made in USA matters to a lot of folks like myself. Many of us like support American or local workers (where we can. Easier with rods than with reels), especially after this last year. Thanks again for the reply.
What do you think? Dobyns Sierra vs Gloomis GCX spinning rod.
I have the Dobn's Sierra SA-702 SF spinning rod for drop shot fishing and I really like it. Priced @ $170 I never fished the G Loomis GCX rod but it is priced @ $250 You can't go wrong with either one
Is there a model you like for vibrating jigs?
what best reel size for pairing this 12lbs rod?
Which spinning would you recommend for topwater with braid?
Something medium power with fast action would be ideal if you are throwing popper style baits. The length is up to you as I like longer rods like 7'1" for casting distance, some prefer 6'8" or 6'10"
Is there a model that you like or prefer for throwing vibrating jigs?
The 893CJWR would be my favorite if you like a shorter rod go with the 853C JWR
Hi, can I use this rod for inshore action?
Absolutely
What rod are you recommending for jerkbaits in this line?
I personally use 852S and 852C spinning and casting rods. They are 7'1" medium power, fast action.
Does this rod have small guides?
Not super small like micro guides but nice and compact
What rod would be good for texis rigs??
What size weights? And what length rod do you like? There are several options
Would you take this rod over the expride?
No, I really like them but these are more comparable to a Zodias or Curado rod from Shimano. Expride is more on par with IMX Pro or GLX
@@JPDeRoseOutdoors so far $30 I could get the expride which is way better is what your saying lol
Could I use this for red fish?
Absolutely!
👍👍👍👍super
This rod isn't worth 249.00,I was told at the bass pro shop it replaced the Imx..that was a lie..It's the cheapest rod I have..Reality It's a Shimano, it's going back today.
The fact that a Bass Pro employee lied to you is pretty crappy. Just so you know, that rod is built in Woodland Washington however, not by Shimano.
@@JPDeRoseOutdoors Shimano own G Loomis
That first guide is ugly as hell. All guides should be black. For a moment I thought G. Loomis finally started to listen to its customers (ex. NRX with the ugly blue robin guide wraps and the silly pictures on the rods.)
G loomis has 1 hater and he is a 10 year old child lol if you don’t like it don’t buy it
Plus the rod is ugly
