I remember when I was a kid the first time I beat the game, I got The Oath on accident because I literally forgot about Magus. I was so focused on Lavos, that it never crossed my mind Magus was playable. I realized on my 2nd playthrough that he was playable, by accident of course. It all came full circle. Getting The Oath the first time will always hold a special place in my heart, and made me realize Anti-Heroes were a thing.
My two favorite game music composers are in this game. Never really paid attention to the fact that nobuo is here as well. The musics in this game are unforgettable.
I've always been rather curious. I remember hearing that Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger were both two halves of the same game. I mean, look at SoM's Boy & Girl and CT's Crono & Marle. They're so similar it's shocking. The story of SoM feels incomplete at the latter half. When you get Flammie, and are able to move around the world, the story doesn't have the same impact until the very end. It feels like it suffers. The first half of the game feels very story heavy when compared with the second half. That's because the CD-ROM adapter for the SNES was cancelled (Playstation), which meant that they had to cut stuff out for Mana to make it fit into the cart. Which also meant they couldn't put in the Chrono Trigger half of the game. But still. Just imagine. What WOULD have the finished product been like? Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger are both to be considered among the best games that the SNES had to offer. If the team had been allowed to have actually done what they set out to do, to make that ultimate game, which in development was called "Maru Island", then... my goodness. That RPG would have been one of the longest (IMO easily over a hundred hours just to even see everything), and one of the most epic of RPG's ever created, and that's saying something even though SoM and CT are considered as such. Maru Island would have been the crown jewel of the SNES library, bar none. Then again, thanks to the Sony deal falling apart, we got other games through the Playstation. One door closed, but far more opened. Still. I'm kinda surprised that after all this time, nobody has attempted to make Maru Island. To find that original vision and make it a reality. What would that final game have been like? Boy/Crono and Girl/Marle would have had the most epic adventure, of not only saving the world from the Mana Beast, but saving time from Lavos as well. You would have lost the Sprite half way, after beating the Mana Beast, but continued on. There are so many things to consider, of what could have happened.
why did you put that cancer music between the endings constantly ear raping me because the audio is totally different from the game and the music. I hate you for this but I also love you for compiling endings im too lazy to produce.
If you feed the cats every time you are in the present you change the ending where crono's mom chases after them (there is a food bowl in crono's house) you must have cat food. Getting the doll in the fair at the beginning changes some endings
ah, ending 13 is the only one i missed, because i made the mistake of charging the pendant right away. the game won't let you leave the palace afterward!
not finishing this video cause i wanna get the endings myself but lol nice hifumi also was really confused about the chancellor part ngl thought it was at the parade or summit thanks dood
So much anxiety from watching this and not getting all the endings as a kid and not remembering all the plot....and everyone permanently going bye bye to their timelines
Thank you! I finished this diamond of a game, many many years ago.. but didnt know there were more than one endings. It was really nice to see the endings of the game!! The animations in the end from where they are?
I used Frog Ayla Robo for the DS only ending once it loses 9999 HP all spells are useless and at lv 70 it still does 500+ per turn so I used a 999 healing Slurp Kiss every turn while attempt to have Robo trigger 4x 9999 hits until it dies that way.
I thought it was wild that Chrono looked like Goku, Glenn looked like Vegeta, and Marle looked like Bulma... Until I realized it was Akira Toriyama doing the art!
Thank you for this video! Some of these endings are great! Unfortunately, you often have to skip huge portions of the story to achieve them... This is my only complaint about the game.
I do believe Chrono Cross is not actually a sequel. It's debatable but I'm pretty sure officially it's not. I think the only thing that could make it a sequel is Lavos. You should still play it. It's pretty good. It's not Trigger good. But still worth a play through or 2 or how ever many endings are in that game.
@@chonkychan199 I think it's pretty fun. The combat system is pretty cool. The story is pretty good. The ending seems rushed. There are multiple ways to play through the story and get different playable characters. Choices you make effect how the game plays out. Side note Chrono Cross has the most playable characters I've ever seen in a Jrpg. I found it fun playing the game over and over just to see how many characters I could get. Some are hidden. Some are choice locked. I had lots of fun playing Chrono Cross.
Considering that *that* Magus is from a different timeline and not the fixed one, my guess was that the Crono Cross universe happens in an alternative timeline other than the main fixed one where this other dimension Magus is from
7:04 he wanted to have babies with Ayla!! 😁😁😁😁 55:02 yeah!! I have nothing better to do!! 🤓 58:14 LOL Frog is an ancestor of Marle! 😆 1:30:50 taken from Chrono Cross?😯

Isn't that Frog atop after his victory?
IMO The Oath is the most badass ending.
@@utarian7 It's meant to be ambiguous who won.
You mean "by accident" not "on accident."
Doofus.
Lucca:
**Casually finds an abandoned baby in the forest**
**Smiles obliviously**
**Takes the baby for herself**
Maybe she was hungry?
It's awesome how a 90's game has a lot of Hidden Endings like that, not for all its the BEST Old school RPG.
That oath ending with the credits scrolling while you can hear the battle going on in the background is positively bad ass!
8:50 I love how Doan is just like, "Do I really need to be here for this?" and nopes out of there. I felt that.
Genuinely laughed because I just beat the game and noticed the exact same thing XD
It would’ve been cool if you so choose to defeat Magus, afterwards Frog turns back into glen and instead of frog you have glen in your party instead
I like how this game makes paradoxacal events explainable to a degree.
That dev team ending is awesome. Props to all those guys.
This game is a true masterpiece!! I'm 40 years old and only last week I ended this game ( beyond the time ending)
Lucca and Marle bonding over teasing boys was really cute.
54:45 RIP Akira Toriyama!

Really good video. Must have put a lot of work into it deserves way more likes.
Not really, I just hit the record button on a game I liked playing.
The amount of detail that was dedicated to this game is simply beautiful. I think it is a great inspiration to do other projects.

Make a video
Despite CC being fun and all, it shat all over Magus' story.
Come again
After the second passage to the same ending, I vitally need such a video. Special appreciation for Caramelldansen
Just finished Chrono Trigger on my SNES and CRT TV and got the bad and second ending on this list.
Frog is Vegeta in the end
I always wished if there was someway to get Janus and human Glenn together at the end.. Or find Schala..
That’s what imagination is for

Bring Chrono Trigger to the Switch!
I've been patiently waiting. I assume that would have to be very specially done.

Float Away is the best ending
Awesome video! I've played the game a dozen times over but I hadn't seen many of these.
What's the deal with ending 7 and Chrono replacing Magus?
A lot of people have wondered about that. I think it's just a funny what if scenario, but it's one of the stranger ones.

lucca: ooh free baby
So who was atop the castle in the "the oath" ending?
Either frog or magus they leave it open
The music was really good in this game
ty for this. i liked this game but im not doing multiple more full playthroughs just for some cutscenes
especially liked seeing the one without destroyed epoch and the froggy ending
As a kh fan nomura screwing with me is something I'm used to but damn wasn't i expecting it here

if you are going to show all the endings maybe don't skip through the dialogue
Fair enough too late now
You can always pause and read it. I thought he mostly did a good job of giving enough time.
Well, the failure to defeat Lavos ending makes it clear "You really done messed up here....check out all this damage you have caused."
oh, i once found a strange short Flash game, where you play as Magus, and DO save Shala.
if i remember, it was simply called "Magus".
You're the real hero

10:03 I totally forgot about this ending. Cronos reaction was priceless 😂😂😂
When i was 8, i thought the bad ending was the only one. I am a cadual gamer at best, but once a story gets me, I'm in. Cant put Chrono Trigger down
nice video loved the caramelldansen transitions, the oath is the coolest ending
Question, on the SNES version is there no lost sanctuary where you meet the reptites and clear out monsters for them?
I beat the game today with 2 endings first follow that cat and second float away, Im trying get 99 to fight red Nu.
Good video thank you
How come Frog doesn't turn human when you: don't rez Crono / kill Magus / Epoch destroyed ? Am I missing something?
As good as FF6 is, Lavos > Kefka.
And my favorite ending is Crono and Marle hanging from the balloons. 😊

How do you get these endings? Are they all new game + or can they just be achieved by saving before a certain event?
As long as you are strong enough on a new game, you can just get these endings by killing lavos before certain events, so new game + is not needed.
So many endings. I worried to play this game. I just got 1 ending when chrono die, my new party is ex enemy(forgot his name) then beat last boss
