@@PottatowNo. That's not true. Carter's achievements in office are now being acknowledged in hindsight. Historians are reappraising his presidency. What his detractors ( generally full time nobodies) fail to understand is that Carter was an amazing human being. He had a tough presidency and maybe his character made it hard to be president. He was a great governor in Georgia at a difficult time.
Essentially what you and people like you think of Carter is of no consequence when it comes to assessment of this great man. Id prefer the opinions of Admiral Rickover, Willie Nelson and Hunter S Thompson. Those giants held Carter in the highest esteem.

He wasn’t, if you lived in the 70s, you would realize what a horrible president he was, completely incompetent and because of him we had double digit inflation, unemployment and high energy prices. Home mortgage rate rates were through the roof. There is nothing good about the man.

He was a wonderful citizen, husband and father. A terrible president, in far over his head. I voted for him, it was the first time I was 18 and able to vote. After the way he handled domestic and foreign policy, I voted for Reagan and never voted for a democrat again.

He absolutely was an incredible human being. He went out there himself and helped build houses for poor people. He resolved nuclear arms problem with N. Korea. YES: single-handedly and as an ex-president. He taught Sunday school every single week at his church into his 90s.
No one comes close to Jimmy Carter post-presidency.

I now know that John Anderson was a representative for our country. Here's the wisecrack: he didn't use the GRECIAN shampoo formula to dye his gray hair red, auburn, brunette brown, or jet black. Will David Letterman chortle over this? It's about what the Representative John Anderson didn't do. 🤔

My 2 hero's my dad , born in Richland Ga to Bobby Carter, my grandmother on Oct 1st 1924 and my dad's and my cousin Jimmy . The Carter side of the family which I have studied which My dad took pride in comes down to the foundation of Lillian Gordy , cousin Jimmy's mom also like my grandmother and my dad and his siblings born in the small town of Richland . Cousin Jimmy was raised by a woman who supported the " underdog , which at that time were the blacks " Jimmy was raised and befriended when he was a young boy by Rachael Clark a black woman who along with a church that the land was given to the black families . On that land is also a cemetery where Rachael is buried . And Rachael fished , picked cotton , and when Jimmy's mom worked 20hr shifts as a RN , Jimmy spent the night at Rachael's home , sleeping on the floor in the 1920's . No silver spoon in his mouth or heart .
And have not even talked about how the Naval Academy shapes and molds a young person together with small town roots of close family . Carter side is close , but not perfect, but Jimmy is progressive , 1 step, 2 steps forward . 77 yrs to the same woman is beyond what most will ever have .

This was a typical hatchet job by Dan Rather. Jimmy Carter at this point was a failed president and a very vain man, but he was right on a number of issues, and he was right on the delegate count in 1980. Clearly, Dan Rather, who wanted a replay of 1968, so he could make Dan Rather the story as opposed to the nominee, tried to stir up a story that just wasn't there. President Carter did his best to move the Democrats forward, but pols like Ted Kennedy, Tip O'Neill, etc tried to keep the party in the old New Deal Days. Not until 3 landslide defeats did the party relent and let another Southern Democrat Bill Clinton make a try.

Well by 1985 Reagan had won 49 states and came 1,200 votes away from winning all 50. Some of the interviewers by then may have been expressing their personal grief disguised as brutal questioning. Assuming they were not Reagan supporters. Same will happen with Biden. Media talking heads who hate Trump are going to be brutal to Biden starting in 10 days from now when he's out of office. Why? They'll blame Biden for the return of Trump.
