Like thunder, the sound of the knife dropping to the floor pulls you out of the shock but it’s already late. He holds you tight between his arms like he once did many times before, and you ask yourself if you even really knew him at all.

Like a doll, he slowly swings your body with his, too weak to struggle against him.
The candles across the room doesn't warm you up anymore and every step makes you dizzier.
“W… Why?” you finally mutter, struggling to keep yourself awake.

Patrick is engaged to Nancy and is doing quite well in life, whereas Patrick's twin, Eric is failing in life and after being invited to Patrick and Nancy's wedding, Eric takes the opportunity to prey on Nancy, and take her for himself.
Later in the script, Eric murders Patrick, and steals Patrick's identity, marrying Nancy for himself.
