I recently ordered a 2024 Picanto in Australia. I got the Sport which is the lower mode with auto because the small fat tyres give a better ride. Thanks for your informative review.
Ordered a white picanto GT- line 1.25 today and pick it up on Thursday. I must say the car looks far better in the flesh and even better in pearl white.
I got to the Kia Picanto Gt-line S top of the range with Kia logo laser door lights reflection on pavement with chrome door handles not white😍 loving it
Looks fantastic in GT-Line spec, available in the UK with the 100PS 1.0L 3cyl turbo. A 'GT' edition with the 1.0L 120PS engine out the Rio would be great.
In Greece the gt line does not come with the standard navigation system. The dealer told me that kia from now on will not install the navigation system but it will have connectivity with your smartphone! By the way in Greece gt line costs about 13500 euros. So I bought the i10 premium navi 1.2 liter with 12870 euros.
From Greece: I suppose they changed their policies. I got the 1.2 lt X line variant, and it has nav as standard. Also, I was between i10 premium and Picanto X Line, and after reading a ton of reviews praising Picanto's responsiveness compared to i10 (this channel was one of the very few exceptions), I got the Picanto. Also, at the time I bought it, i10 premium was more or around the price of the X Line, go figure. Hahaha
@@user-zd5op8dn8e hi Sam. The only issue I have with the Picanto is the claimed MPG. It's around 40mpg for me. That's it. Other than that, the picanto gt line s is a really good car. I commute 44 miles every day, and on the motorway it's a smart performer. Really comfortable. I can easily cruise at 75. Completely reliable, extremely practical. Never missed a beat. If you can get a similar deal and you aim to own the car for 3 years then go for the GT Line S with all the kit. I've found it extremely usable, especially the Sat nav, reversing camera and heated seats. Awesome car get 5 stars. Just get the deal that suits you.
@@ThatFNGGuy There is a review showing 28.5 mpg! I get 35mpg in mixed driving. The claimed 48 mpg is theoretical being done in a shed on a rolling road. I can only get that at 50mph on the M4 motorway between Reading and Maidenhead which is flat for 14 miles.
Great Video as usual Marek. Can't wait for the X-Line version of the Picanto, they should offer a full GT variant with the 1.0 120 T-GDI with a 6 speed manual to rival the upcoming UP! GTI.
As a brand I consider Kia as alternative to VW. Maybe strange, but they are more attractive than siblings Hyundai to me. It would be nice to watch a review of Kia Rio from you.
Toma Popescu when you buy new car, first of all you consider how it performs and VW performs better. Reliability is quite subjective, anyway all VW problems people talking all the time (1.4 TSI, 6 dsg) is far away away.
All versions of Picanto come with disc brakes on all 4 wheels. Is strange but the 2nd generation Picanto with the 1.0 seemed more peppy than this new gt-line with a 1.2!
I'd like a small city car if only I could fit in it and get out again without being levered out. I [well my daughter officially] had a Fiat Panda [made in Poland] for a few years. However my wife would not be seen in daylight with me in the car, or all three of us. She thought we looked like the Wombles of Wimbledon Common [look it up] stuffed in the car. It is eleven years old now and still going well, sold to my sister in law, who uses it to travel round the countryside for her job as a social helper. Its a 1300 diesel.
If they give the car for free, but it is unsafe to drive, people need to know. This is a budget car, but that does not mean it is faultless. Yes, one can turn a blind eye to some of its shortcomings, but it does not mean it is perfect.
Marek Drives Yeah good point im just so mad about The prices here. You can get a bmw 420, for the same price as a m5 in germany 😭😭 so it’s still super expensive to buy a car if you are a student
i drove this new picanto is 5 star powerful and gt version have turbo, and very comfortable compare to stupid toyota paso big engine but power, why you don’t mention on this video gt is turbo, are you try the hide the true?
Many thanks for showing the gas pedal and brake: guess for my huge feet I would hit them together... a nogo, if that would be better, it would be an option for my next car
ik rij met een gt line 1000 cc in de stad idd een pitig ding , op comfort niet zo dederend hard rijden , voor de rest verbruik redelijk hoog voor een kleine motor ,6,4 gemegt verbruik
I appreciate your unbiased view of this car which is generally highly rated by reviewers. I drove a friend's picanto and it was a most unlikeable car compared to my swift . Nothing about the car stood out and the driving position too was not to my liking. I really cannot understand why its rated so highly in the automotive circles.
Getting in few days the GT line 2020 with full extra including Android auto..LED lights EBA etc etc, seriously everything besides cruise control which is kinda pointless when 90% you drive it in towns... the 1.245cc Engine 4speed automatic 84hp and 125nm, but already planned an ECU upgrade to make it safely to 105hp and 155nm torque. it cost 13.500€. in titanium silver with the red stripes... there is no other car even in bigger classes like "swift or polo" that had this equipment in that price! they where just ugly basic models and some without even rims. i test drive it a lot... 140kph in the highway was not feeling "out of its waters" at all! maybe the roads in Poland don't inspire confidence?
Is this the same class as a Honda Fit or a Seat Ibiza? Those would be my pick. I figure if you are buying in this class, forgo the "extras" & buy the most durable and spacious car in the class. (Most important is durability because that equals resale value)
I don't like city cars. It should serve a porpous be like a box with no quismos cost no more than 6-7000 euro so you don't cry too much when someone crashes you in parking. Ok on long journeys you need confort and power but not in small trips in the city. Go for basic dacia sandero iven thow it is in another class. Stop the suv madness.
I have seen 28.5 mpg on the display of a review car!!! A far cry from the 48 mpg of the official figure which is clearly nonsense. I can get it up to 35 mpg if I drive very carefully. Nearly all the reviews are on the unloved GT/Line which have plastic seats and 16" low profile tyres which ruin the ride. Get the 3.
I go on the motorway a lot and despite its 21mph/1000 rpm in top gear its fairly quiet and makes good progress. It can hold its own in the overtaking lane!
Typical review.... Talks about the cup holders at length, but never mentions the height adjustable drivers seat which is the jolly good reason I bought one.
Why review the GT/Line which is stupid looking, has vinyl seats - yuk! and 16" boneshaker wheesl. The best seller is the 3. Who cares about cup holders? Whats with the 'city car' description? Its excellent on the motorway. The reviewer doesnt understand gearing. You dont get higher gearing with more gears. Well at least he didnt say it does 48mpg! Its more like 37mpg.

It looks better in black but it looks bigger in white!

Good review Marek, very informative!
In some countries you actually get a flat loading area, but you do not get the heating steering wheel. e.x in Greece
VlaNt Sb I have both :)
Looking for one my self at the moment, flat loading, heated wheel, 1L Turbo with smart key.
I love small cars, I have Mazda Demio 1st gen 1997 and glad to have this funny car) good reviews!)
You finally put the sunglasses away :P Good review. I liked it. :)
It was cloudy. I don't wear them, because I want to look cool, but because squinting into the sunlight is just as bad.
Very nice looking car is defiantly one I would consider to buy.
Great review!

To be honest smartphone is better :)

Love your channel. Patiently awaiting a Ford Fiesta review :D

Great car reviews.
The GT is not a top spec model. The GT Line S is. Btw I disagree with most of your review. It's inaccurate. I own one. It's a fantastic car.

The best spec is the 3 which has everything you need without looking stupid and rattly on 16" low profile tyres and plastic seats!

@@fivish hi Philip. Mostly true. I got 39mph regularly. Fuel consumption was never the kias strong point. The GT Line S had few weak points however.
GREAT REVIEW
Tell us Marek ?
What is a good all rounder ?
Really nice looking affordable car.👍
The GT/Line with plastic seats and 16" wheels is unloved. Note that KIA push the GT/Line out for reviews as they have a lot unsold.
Bardzo przyjemnie się ogląda w języku angielskim :)

Huw Williams thanks for the story I guess lol
How can you say something bad about a car if it starts at 10.000 euro. in denmark it cost 21000 ... :/

Marek Drives cars is minimum 2000 euro

At the time I was recording this review there wasn't a turbo option. Just the two normally aspirated engines.
Many thanks for showing the gas pedal and brake: guess for my huge feet I would hit them together... a nogo, if that would be better, it would be an option for my next car
I have size 12/46 feet and the pedals are just fine.
Nice one marek! Can you please do a review of the 2018 ford ecosport? Tnx!
kia philippines offers us the kia picanto with a small monocolored screen just a fm/am radio thats it

So, Going by your Info ? I will stay away from buying one of these then ??
It sucks that they do not offer this exact design for the US market.
You forgot to mention the 100hp t-gdi version .
We don't get it in Poland.
the N/A version also powerful hill climbing i can bit with honda city 1.5

What’s the difference between GT line version and AO version
According to Australian KIA website AO is GT with "Babolat™ tennis kit". WTF?
www.kia.com/au/cars/special-edition.html#none
The style of body kit and no red exterior trim is about it.
I would be interested in a review of the VW UP GTI
My allrounder pick: hyundai i30N
The most beautiful car in the world
How tall you are?
❤👍KIA👍❤

I go with the 1st generation it's little bit higher than the 3 generation that's what I see
Is that the white or the silver version?
You mean colour? White.
i like XLine with autogear

It's a class lower. Seat Mii. Honda doesn't have anything this small.
Hi i would get a ford feista or a skoda fabia
nigel bath the cars don’t compete
The equivalent fiesta to a 3 spec picanto is £6,000 more!

New Ssangyong Rexton please
It's okay but I think I'd prefer its stablemate the i10.
No! The i10 looks very old and sad compared to the new modern fresh Picato.
A lot of bullshite , this car can handle pretty good on the motorway...

*Não pode custar mais que 25 Mil Reais no Brasil....*
16" wheels doesn't sound right for small car! Big let down!
Typical review.... Talks about the cup holders at length, but never mentions the height adjustable drivers seat which is the jolly good reason I bought one.
I dont give a damn about cup holders!!!!
Its no leather interior
The GT/Line versions have plastic seats which are horrible.
I like the car only from a distance. The i10 is better.
Seems worse than the overlooked Lancia Ypsilon.
+Mark McMarkface Ypsilon was an overpriced Fiat 500.
