I knew Cutty as Mr. Phillip Thomas😊he would buy a ticket for Miami for stage show almost every Friday evening. I always loved his enthusiasm, hustle, drive & work ethic. He was such a dependable and true person. What you see is what you get with him. I’m so happy for his success and very proud of Cutty. Blessings & much ❤

He was deliberately pushed aside by Donovan Germain after dominating 1991 with " bomber " , Lambada with Wonder and the collaboration with Aunty Marcia Griffith with " Half eediot ". He was pushed aside to make way for a little teenage fresh face youth at the time....(Buju Banton) in the new year of 1992. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
@Mister Lexx you know he did an interview some time back where he said Donovan said on a interview "cutty never like when buju come to penthouse" then cutty ranks come on and say Donovan lie he never had any problem with buju ,and he needs to deal with Germain about royalties of his songs ,man so much stuff going on behind the scene we ain't know

I remember knowing Cutty Ranks when I lived at Orange street Downtown Kingston. His life was really rough, he sometimes slept on an old bed outside without even a blanket, he was definitely a true hustler. I once saw him when he started deejaying and he came to see a couple older ladies that he respected that used to help him out, miss Iris and miss Mavis.. but we called Country Man at the time

Big up Cutty Ranks, his songs are loved in St.Vincent 🇻🇨👍🏼👍🏼 but I was in trinidad in the early 90s and his respect was on another level in trini...esp with chinese laundry mixtapes and when laundry started off loading cutty ranks dubplates like crazy !, cutty was in trinidad very regular in those days, too much heat, 20 man dead, retreat, dominate, rudebwoy number, half idiot, decide yuh mind, I'm not a king, stopper, one day badness, who seh me done, the goin is rough, chop chop, disappear, did tear down trinidad bad !!!! Cutty,don’t think we didn’t know who you were when you were in King Weston since you mentioned Rebel Tone Sound System. I was a Police Officer @Lawrence Tavern Police Station. We used to stop by Rebel Tone whilst on patrol.The owner of the Sound System was working with JUTA then,but we knew who you were .

When i listen to most of these Legendary entertainers and how hard their struggles were it gives me more strength to be strong and also believe in yourself whatever dot kill you will definitely make you stronger , never envy anyone for what they have because you never know what they have been through or how hard their life have been.
